Shift
Title: Poision Zombie
Location: Manchester, UK
Join Date: mid-August 2006
Date of Birth: 21/01/1989
  • Came quite late to Half-Life 2 but was awe inspired by it.
  • Was one of the few who actually played Half-Life after Half-Life 2, and thought Half-Life was average compared to Half-Life 2.
  • Named himself after his in-game name, which he had been using ever since first watching Band of Brothers, in that of the character 'Shifty' Powers, revelled for his exellent accuracy with a rifle, which related to him in Call of Duty (now Call of Duty 2), as he was also deadly accurate with a rifle, everyone knew his name within the entire Rifle-Only community.
  • Took a while to become well established in the forum (ha...) but his first major topic contribution was that of discussing whether Alyx Vance was a tease or not. But as most topics on Half-Life 2 net, the topic strayed far and beyond the originally intended topic. This eventually resulted in an argument breaking out between Shift, KaMaKaZi-BLiTz (who is now Bacons) and Absinthe, as Absinthe declared Kami was sad to have an emotional attachment to a band of pixels. Shift declared Absinthe was just as sad for the useage of the Alyx nude mod, Absinthe won the argument in the end, as everyone knows he is exellent at doing. After 20+ pages of carnage, Alyx was formally declared, a tease. Found here http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=110435&highlight=Alyx+tease&page=21
  • Continued to post mainly in the Half-Life 2 sections of the forums, as all aspects of the storyline were discovered.
  • When the storyline had been discussed to bits, Shift started to roam down to bottom half of the forums, to the controversial general-off topic areas. Much later on, Shift became involved in another argument, possibly one of the largest in the history halflife2.net, the theists vs. atheists, in strangely enough, the politics area. After an argument that lasted up to a week, the atheists has successfully crippled Shift's Christian beliefs, as the more logical side of his brain was telling him they were right. However, the more spirtual side of Shift retaliated, and he settled with the religion of Dieism. Found here http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=123643&highlight=religion
  • The past year, Shift's passion for guitar playing and music in general expanded rapidly (he originally never had an avatar, but resides with that of Jimi Hendrix, his greatest idol), and now resides most of the time on the forums down in the bottom half, mostly in the music section, off-topic and general games section, as well as contributing his vast Half-Life knowledge to the Half-Life wikipedia, recently opened for the general public.
  • Shift has also recently noticed his undeing talent for killing topics dead, either by brilliant summary, or just by a true topic killer comment.
  • Also within his time on these forums, his time spent on games has wavered because of music interests, and now only plays the best games that are out on the market. He has been however, waiting anxiously for the release of Episode 2 and Portal, since May 2006.
