The most damaging weapon in the game in terms of sheer brute force, the RPG fires laser-guided rocket projectiles over long distances. The rocket propelled grenades will home in on where the laser is pointed, and thanks to their self-contained propulsion system they will continue to fly around until they strike something, at which point they detonate on impact.
[edit] Description
The RPG is shoulder-mounted tube with a handle trigger and mounted long-range laser aiming module. Each rocket is loaded with a laser and electronics suite that allows it to home in on the laser from the RPG.
[edit] Use
The RPG is bar-none the strongest weapon in the game. It is the only weapon capable of damaging targets impervious to other weapons, such as the massive striders. These rockets are more sophisticated than those from the original Half-Life, as they will adjust their trajectory a lot swifter and will truly home in on what the laser is pointed at, as opposed to simply following the path of the laser.
In most cases against large targets, the rockets will have to be guided in a circular motion around the enemy before striking the target, lest the projectiles be shot down by the enemy. Against smaller targets without anti-air defenses, the rockets can be dumbfired. As with the HE grenade, this is a high explosive weapon--meaning that it causes large damage over an area. Rather than guiding a rocket into a target, it is sometimes best to strike the ground near the target, thus catching any other enemies in the blast radius.
