Hidden Source
Overview
Hidden: Source is a round-based game where in each round a team of up to eight players form the Infinitum Research Intercept Squad (I.R.I.S.) and must hunt down and kill a single enemy on the opposite team, namely Subject 617 a.k.a. the Hidden.
The round ends when either a) the Hidden is killed, b) all I.R.I.S. players are killed or c) the round timer expires. If an I.R.I.S. player kills the Hidden then in the next round that player becomes the Hidden and the previous Hidden joins the I.R.I.S. team. If the Hidden eliminates all I.R.I.S. players that player will stay on as the Hidden for the next round. In the event of a timeout, a random surviving member of I.R.I.S. will be chosen as the Hidden.

I.R.I.S
The Infinitum Research Intercept Squad (I.R.I.S.) consists of 8 members:
Colin Wakefield, Klaus Gruber, Jung Choi, Erik Pettersson, Isaac Lewis, Jamar Swope, Ewansiha Kuti, Kasim Slovak, Duncan Wallace.
I.R.I.S. members can assign themselves to 2 different combat roles.
The Assault role is expected to be the fore of any violent engagements, and has access to all I.R.I.S. weapons
The Support role is tasked with aiding their teammates in the time of battle; They can resupply their teammates with ammo after a radio request is made, and they are equipped with 3 laser alarms that can be attached on any solid surface. They can wield the FN P90 or the FN303 in combat.
The Hidden
Subject 617 (The Hidden) has 2 weapons to use in combat. He wields the Kabar (A knife stolen from a victim while he was escaping the IR Labs), and 3 "Homemade" Pipebombs.
Through experiments done on the Hidden during his "stay" in the IR Labs, he is equipped with a wide range of unique abilities.
Some consider this the main ability of the Hidden; the ability to bend light around him making him only a distinct blur to anyone looking at him. This ability is a passive ability that will always be active.
Essential to the Hidden's survival, the Pounce allows him to cover a great distance of terrain/air in a matter of seconds. However, pouncing can only be down to the extent of the Hidden's stamina, usually 4 or 5 pounces can be done in a row before the Hidden has to rest and recover his stamina.
Through experimentations the Hidden has obtained super strength allowing him to plunge his knife into his enemies in close range literally gibbing them into small pieces. The Pigsticker requires a buildup time of a few seconds due to it's powerful nature, and due to it destroying the body of the victim, it stops the Hidden from feeding off of the dead body.
The Hidden is able to pounce up to solid surfaces and grab onto them allowing for him to ambush and hide from the I.R.I.S. in combat situations. The Hidden can cling to objects for approximately 8 seconds before having to let go.
The Hidden can feed off of his victims bodies as long as they haven't been dismembered by a Pigsticker or Pipebomb. Feeding off the victim allows for him to regain some of his health, but it creates a large mess and spews out blood from the body which may alert other I.R.I.S. members.
The Hidden is able to pin corpses to any solid surface to hide them to feed on later, or to just scare the living daylights out of the I.R.I.S.
While the Hidden stalks closer to the I.R.I.S. body, he is able to detect pheromones around a person allowing him to tell who is the weakest of the group allowing for him to plan out his attack with a little more strategy. Green auras means that the person is healthy, Orange/Yellow auras means that the person is wounded, and a Red aura means that the person is seriously injured. As this requires high concentration on the Hidden's part, this can only be done while stationary.

History
The Hidden began life as a Half Life 1 modification created by a group led by Mark Wherrett during their final year at the University of Lincoln (UK). Its simple yet enthralling gameplay led to further years of students clamoring for more. Mark found he no longer had the time to re-create the mod in any other engine and so it was passed on to a new generation.
While we are allowed to show pictures and talk about the original version, it is not available for download nor will it ever be, at the request of Mark, who feels it would not be a good reflection on the quality of work being produced in the remake. To date a taster and four betas have been released.
