Halflife2.net
This article below may contain bad humor and inside jokes. To see the factual account of the birth of this place look to the offical blurb or look at the bottom of this page.
Origins
While the origins of Halflife2.net range from tales of a much younger Munro pulling a crowbar from a stone to parables about the Gods of Gaming wanting to see a collective await a game, watching them drool and create such things as the Arena, some elements remain constant throughout all the creation myths.
It was a rainy day - it always rains in Britain - in March 2003 when the Internet lagged with the creation of what is now known and feared as Halflife2.net. Gathering together the masters of the dark arts of Content Creation and Forum Moderation, Munro ruled his patch of the series of tubes like a relaxed monarch, appeasing the members with offerings of Interviews and Content.

Hurrah!
Welcome all :)
Incidents
Much of the slight mishaps of the Realm are labeled as "Incidents" - in many cases the real evidence is either heavily moderated or passes into legend. Often these incidents are attributed with humorious titles, but in all cases relate to the incident at hand.
The PH Incident
While the most recent Incident arose from both a seemingly mad rush of power and the Ban of any threads relating to a certain Heiress to a chain of Hotels with the name of the French capital city. With the abstract comments linking HL2.net to a Communist-style censored forum and the fictional take over of the forums led by Pi; basically many members were confused.
Borken (Broken) HL2.net Incident
After the updating of the Front Page, the fourms didn't work as well as they normally did.
Many thought that the Limelight servers may have entered another plane of reality, one in which fonts don't work and everything just doesn't like itself.
Carrot Incident
Moar - This page needs 'Moar' work, it may have been copy-pasted or just is really not up to standard.
Mod Wars
You didn't see anything ok!
General Population
The average forumite goes through many different stages of insanity and stability - but in the end most are classed insane. However overall the members are as a collective a group that welcome others differences... pfft!
