Gibs

Gibs are little bits of internal organs, bones, and flesh of a computer character after they have been killed with an amazing amount of force, the tradition of gibbing characters after they have been killed has often now been replaced with Ragdolls. For some reason, Gibs contiuously emerge from ventilation ducts in the "Residue Processing" chapter of Half-Life accompanied by crunching sounds, suggesting that those air shafts are filled with headcrabs and such.

Trivia

  • Gibbing is most popular in older games
  • Adrian Carmack is credited with creating the term
