Father Grigori

Father Grigori is an Orthodox-Christian minister and last human inhabitant of Ravenholm. Before the Combine conquest of Earth, Grigori was the local priest of Ravenholm.

Post-Combine

After the Combine shelled the town with headcrabs, making it almost entirely uninhabitable, Father Grigori alone decided to remain behind and stay with his congregation, as he puts it himself: “A shepherd must tend to his flock, especially when they have grown…unruly.” Father Grigori stays behind in order to help the victims of the headcrabs, as he believes that they are still alive, but unable to control their actions. Originally, he attempted to remove the headcrabs from their victims without killing them, but when this proved fruitless he turned to simply killing them, with both his Winchester rifle, Annabelle, and his home-made traps, in order to free them from their hell.

Father Grigori’s life of solitude has made him quite insane. He often speaks, or rather, rants, aloud to God, praying for himself and for the people of Ravenholm and cursing the headcrabs. He believes that his soul is tainted with evil and prays for salvation. He has even taken to self-mutilation; carving a cross onto the back of his right hand.

After aiding Dr. Gordon Freeman in his passage through Ravenholm, Father Grigori was surrounded by Zombies in the graveyard behind Ravenholm’s church, and retreated into a large crypt. His current status is unknown.
