In order to preserve the security of the Black Mesa Research Facility as well as ensure smooth operation, a large security force was present within the complex, tasked with overseeing the facility. Their main priorities were preservation of the base and protection of the science staff.
Security guards had specially designed security hub areas located throughout the facility at their disposal. They included locker rooms, showers, bathrooms, surveillance control rooms, gun ranges and other necessary facilities.
Overview
A typical security guard wore dark blue trousers with a matching light blue shirt and dark tie and heavy boots. When on duty, they were required to wear kevlar vests and steel helmets. The security force was typically armed with Glock 17 or Beretta M9 handguns, with Franchi SPAS-12 shotguns and Colt Pythons available from weapon lockers in case of an emergency.
