The Spy

  Friend or foe, look around your team, anyone of them could be a spy. The spy is a very difficult class to play, it's all about biding your time, stealth and blending in. The spy has the ability to disguise himself as any of the opposing teams classes to become the unseen assassin. His deadly butterfly knife backstab ability will result in an instant kill if you give a spy the chance to sneak up on you. Once he has attacked however, the disguise will be lost so keep alert.

The spy also possesses a revolver for tricky situations and an energy sapper which is attached to engineer's buildings. These will deactivate and slowly destroy the building unless the engineer knocks off the device with his wrench. Lastly, the spy has a cloak ability for a short period which can be used to get behind enemy lines, decloak and blend in with your disguise. Be careful to hide away while decloaking.

Default Weapons

Primary: Revolver

An effective weapon when your cover has been blown and you need to stop an enemy going after you.

Secondary: Electro sapper
Ammo loaded and carried: N/A

This item can be attached to any of the engineer's buildings deactivating them and sapping their energy until they are destroyed.

Melee: Butterfly Knife

The most useful weapon to the spy, which can be used for backstabs. Attacking an enemy from anywhere in the 180° region behind them is an instant kill.

Special 1: Invisibility watch

This allows the spy to cloak fully for 9 seconds. Picking up metal regenerates the cloak power for longer period of invisibility.

Special 2: Disguise kit

Allows the spy to disguise as any class on the enemy or your team. It can even choose which weapon you show.

Unlockable Weapons

Primary: Ambassador
Ammo loaded and carried: 6 | 24

The first shot is accurate and provides a critical hit if it is a headshot. Other shots after are inaccurate. Ideal for snipers using the razorback.

Special 1: Cloak and Dagger

An alternate cloaking watch which provides infinite cloak while the spy stands still.

Special 2: Dead Ringer

Another alternative to the invisibility watch. When the dead ringer is held (with alternate fire), any damage taken will show the spy dying (ragdolling to the ground) and a death message. However the spy takes very little damage, and automatically cloaks for 6.5 seconds. In this time the spy can move to another location while the attacker believes the spy is dead. Upon decloaking the dead ringer creates a loud cracking noise. It's cloaking energy can be regenerated with metal.

Other details:

Special Taunt: Taunting with the knife performs a fencing manoeuvre which instantly kills.

Hat: Fedora hat.
