Gameplay Modes
There are four different ways to play Left 4 Dead.

Singleplayer

You can battle your way through the campaigns alongside three AI-controlled Survivors against more AI-controlled Infected. Perfect if you don't have friends or just generally don't get on with people online.

Campaign
You need to work together with three other human-controlled team-mates to take on the role of the Survivors and survive the zombie apocalypse by escaping to safety.

Versus
This is the true full game with two teams of humans battling against each other as Survivors and Infected bosses. The two teams switch spots after each map or after the Survivors are killed off. This continues all the way until the finale map is completed for both sides, at which point the final score is shown and one team is declared the winner.

Versus is the only mode in which you can play as the Infected.

Survivor
Survival Mode is the new game play mode whereby survivors must compete against endless hoards of zombies. Survival mode was released as a part of the free downloadable content for PC and Xbox 360 on Tuesday 21st April. Game rounds will increase in difficulty over time, as well as increasing zombie numbers. Survival mode will also have 'lull' moments for teams to reload, relocate for ammo, heal or seek out new items. Survivor mode promises a true challenge to Left 4 Dead players.
