wow, i thought this was going to be an all out flame war, but i guess not sence everyone else agrees with you... including me.
sometimes i just wish that valve did it the way they did with half-life, just release it in stores, no CE, SP, or MP versions, no steam, just good ol' half-life2. but o well.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I used to be all optimistic about it, but now it seems the stupidest thing to disgrace my harddrive next to spyware and viruses. If it didn't have the Valve logo in the corner, I would swear it was made by Microsoft. Screw you Steam! I'm off to play Wolf: ET.

yeah, this is not a great launch. Most of the problems seem to be due to bandwidth cruch, which really isn't something they can do much about, but at the very least, if the content converter wasn't horribly bugged, then people wouldn't be having to download all the entire games all over again.

So i go out and spend 50 some dollars on a new game (Fear 2). I can't even install a brand new game without an internet connection to steam?!?!?!?! finally get steam all loaded up. the game takes over an hour to install.. then steam decides to update the game before launching, this takes 2.5 hours... then i try to launch the game and there is a Steam Error code 53.. suggested solution is to Re-Install!!! With steam i cant even access the games i have without the internet because the freakin broken program is obsessed with updating! needless to say the game still wont work, and steam still sucks.
it constantly looses connection to the site to, and then i can't eve look at the game i OWN! |

It tells you it requires an internet connection on the box. It updates so you can play the latest version of the game without having to find and install patches by yourself. It took three hours because you're internet connection is shit. Stop whining jackass.
