Jakelope - Pretty Life Video (Nine Inch Nails Inspired)

Few of you may remember the new band Jakelope that I was informing you about a couple of months ago. It was established in a previous thread that Trent Reznor did not have involvement in the band, but it was inspired by NIN music.

Anyway, their new single Pretty Life is now avaliable on the Internet:

Their style seems to connect with me. Catchy, mysterious, and not too mushy like all the other bands with a female lead, currently out there. Almost a clone of Evenesence, I feel they could do quite well if they continue this style.

Their main website is wierd and twisted and it's unlikely that you'll find much informatin there. In fact you can't find much about them anywhere.

For those interested, Katie B. and Dave "Rave" Ogilvie are two of the bands members.

Oh yeah, and the band's Canadian.

Bloody hell, they took their time didn't they? About time we had some new industrial running about. Any ideas on an album release?

I wouldn't really compare them to Evanesence, they're more like bands like Lacuna Coil and Nightwish. Jakalope share more common ground with industrial bands like Skinny Puppy.

True. I wasn't sure just how to classify them. They sounded like No Doubt the first time I heard them on the radio. They definately have an industrial aspect. It is about time we had something new in the genre.

Apparently, the CD was supposed to be avaliable in stores worldwide as of October 26th. But now the release date has been changed to November 30th. The Cd is called "It Dreams".

Guest appearences as of the Orange Record Label:

"Expect to hear guest appearances by the likes of Monster Magnet, Kat Bjelland from Babes in Toyland, Sloan, Phil Western, Numb, Malhavoc, Thom D'arcy of The Carnations and legendary punk rockers S.N.F.U."

According to a review off of Amazon.ca:

"Stand out tracks are 'Pretty Life', 'Creeper', 'Screecher' (heavy NIN influence),'Bad Dream' and the too-short-last-track 'House of trepidition'."

For those of you who are woundering why the new NIN CD has been taking so long...it is because of this.

EDIT: THE CD SHOULD BE IN STORES NOW!! THE WEBSITES SUCH AS AMAZON HAVEN't FIXED THE RELEASE DATES YET.

Sounds a bit Frankie Goes to Hollywood

It's pretty good, she doesn't have the usual style of voicew for a female lead in this genre. I might investigate the album.

I like what I saw. She's hot too.

I'm always looking for more Nine Inch Nails style music, and this might be promising.
