Anyone listen to any electronica?

Eh? I listen to trance, mainly.. I never really come across other people that do, unless within a trance community, but yeah. Just thought it was worth an ask.

I love electronic music like Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, The Postal Service, and Dntel. Not a huge fan of trance.

Great stuff =] All of those I love.

And yeah, i'm an electronica nut. It's about all I listen to anymore. Everything from IDM, experimental, to breakcore, to jazzy jungle, microhouse, tech-house, trip-hop, ambient, some trance, etc.. Just everything really, except the cheesy house and trance. My favorites are IDM, experimental, drill n bass/exp jungle though.

Electronic yay

yeah, what? i guess you could call postal service an indie-pop electronica cross-over, but (to me) they seem to have little allegiance with IDM like aphex, boards, etc. i think of them as indie-pop with electronic influences

edit: oh yeah, and i like some electronica, your standard IDM selection like aphex, boards, autechre, mouse on mars, etc. i like some straighter techno stuff too like chemical bros. and adult.

Unless they have changed their style completely since the last i heard from them, thats not techno mate. Assuming they havnt, listen to the music in the intro of www.technopride.net. The sound is low quality unfortunately, but that will give you a good idea of what standard techno is like.

what was the last you heard of them? their earlier 'big beat' funk-loops gave way to a more traditional house style with Surrender. they kinda crossed back with the last album, Come with Us, but they're still closer to normal old house than IDM, which is what i meant by "some straighter techno stuff".
