Anglo-Zulu War

Hello, I'm planning to make a machinima movie detailing the events that took place in the above war, specifically at Isandlawana and Rorkes Drift and need to know 3 things

1) Would i be able to render the movie frame by frame (i.e. Pixar- style) in the source engine as the requirements of rendering what I want are too high for most (if not all) P.C's

2) Would it be possibe to have relativly giant sets of high detail

3)Would I possibly be able to get any form of assistance from anyone in the community, or is everyone busy or completely uninterested in the idea, in your opinion

I don't know about the Zulu war but if you want to do something Boer war related I made a few models a while back that you could use.

You can render the movie frame by frame, should be startmovie <fps> <filename>.

However I don't know whether this would be a good idea as it would take a long time to preview it during development.

I don't know anything about how much detail you could get in the sets, and I dont know if anyone will know before the SDK or hl2.

Try emailing the question to VALVe ( Gaben@valvesoftware.com or another valve employee ) they will probably give you the right answer.

Thanks switch, but I think that for now my emphasis has changed to create something more managable (straight multiplayer action) for the moment, to get to grips with the tools and processes as you say.

Thanks again.

Zulu is a great movie! I thought when I was playing The Trenches (WWI Mod for Half-Life) that a Zulu scenario would be fun

Hope your project goes well
