Looking for something simillar

The Red Hot Chilli Peppers seem to be know more for their slow songs like Californiacation and Universally Speeking. However I prefer their songs which are more "funk" in style, especially the beginning of BSSM. I have looked into that genre but there is a lot of electronic music, rather than real instruments, in it which annoys me. Have you got any suggestions?

Rage Against The Machine always had that same flavour of heavy funk.

Yeah Incubus' SCIENCE, and to a lesser extent, Make Yourself (and maybe Fungus Amongus, yet to give it a listen) are very funky/heavy. SCIENCE is worthy of a purchase, their best work to date (IMO of course).

The first one, self-titled, undoubtedly. Other than that their other two albums (Evil Empire and Battle Of Los Angeles) are great, and Renegade is a CD mainly composed of covers by them, I haven't heard it.

AND Chad Smith on the drums, so it's all good.
