i want to see a bunny hopper get instantly impaled up the @ss by a wooden stake that instantly comes out beneath him as he is landing.

Appart from that, as others have mentioned, getting damage from falling debris etc... bodies absorbing bullet energy hence they cant aim momentarily.

how about instead of a lound noise, they mute the sound and let it fade back in. if they put a loud ringing noise it might be annoying and even damaging.

The 'raptors would be T's right? I bet Cliffe would be up for adding 'em. This is right up his alley.

The shield will probably be 10x better (not better as in "stronger"... I mean implemented better with less exploits) in CS:S than it was in CS. My only complaints about the current shield are that the hit detection in CS is iffy and the Terrorists weren't given any decent anti-shield weapons/items. If they fix the hitboxes and give the T's a molotov or something I'd be fine with it.
What would you guys think if we gave the shield the boot?

I'd rejoice. I can see why it was added, but I don't think it was ever intended to be used so that someone can cower in a corner, only venturing out when everyone else is dead.

Ditch it!

Yay! Boot the shield!

Edit: I should add, this is coming from someone who uses the shield often and IMO to great effect. The shield is just an awkward mess, it makes little to no sense as to why it was added, it was just thrown in and only the CT's got it. Just cut it out of the picture and be done with it. It's not shameful to be able to admit you were wrong on some things.

Here are just a few things that occurred to me as I was playing. I feel a few little details could make the next installment all that more refined and addictive.

Suggestion name: Blood trails
Effect:
After a player is wounded (One possible option could be if they loose something like 20hps over a short period of time) they would ooze a short trail of blood behind them.
Purpose of changing/adding:
A subtle addition of detail to the game. This would also add another level of interaction to the gameplay. Wounded players would be exposed for a short while. There would be chances for misdirection, and ambushing. Attacking players would be encouraged to pursue their targets as the blood trail would be temporary. Players would also get a greater sense of satisfaction knowing that their attack scored a definite hit on their opponent.
Other notes:
The blood trail should fade away over a short period of time.

Suggestion name: Visible footsteps
Effect:
Players footsteps are visible
Purpose of changing/adding:
Adds a level of tracking to gameplay. Also subtly changes the way in which players see their position in the game space. Adds a level of realism to the game.
Other notes:
Foots steps fade with time. Foot steps should change with the type of surface (snow lingers longer, dust is less well defined) Some surfaces could be less defined then others appearing as vague scuff marks rather then clear boot prints.

Suggestion name: Molitov cocktails
Effect:
When thrown bursts on impact adding a fiery barrier effect for a short period of time.
Purpose of changing/adding:
Adds a defensive aspect to the game. This would be ideal for a short term defensive barrier. Perfect for terrorists on CS situation maps.
Adds a level or realism to the game. The molitov cocktail is a typical terrorist device.
Other notes:
Effect is temporary. Fire can catch on wooden objects in the surrounding area (like boxes, barrels and door frames). Would be a terrorist only weapon.

... I imagine those first two could be server variables. The Molitov thing I imagine could be quite possible in something like the source engine. I guess a few little details could add another level of interaction into the fray.

About the shield... Yeah just scrap it. It was a nice colorful addition. But I feel that it is so an unique item, that it doesn’t seem to fit in well with the rest of the game, including the CS players who don’t seem to know how to handle having it in the game.

I would love you.

Also what about the ability to move around while planting the bomb...like in the early versions?

There'd be no benefit to that really. I do think it's a little unbalanced though that the CTs just press a button to do their task on the de_ maps, where the Ts actually have to switch to an item.

It takes skill to use the shield properly, but unfortunately because it's a very difficult tool to master properly without camping in the corner, most people can't be bothered. I say it needs to go.

I would like to see some new maps that have to deal with urban warfare in Iraq or some other Middle Eastern countries.
