Speaking of all the 'Must-Buy' FPS games...

Does anyone here know about any must-buy RPG, Strategy, or any other kind of game besides the FPS?

Edit: Alreayd out or coming out. With FPSs we have DoomIII, HL2, STALKER, Farcry, etc. but on the RPG and strategy front it's kind of barren. I don't really know of any highly anticipated games in those categories coming out. The adventure genre is kind of dying, although I do want to get Sam and Max 2, the first one was one of my first PC games (it was fun too).

Yea we just like to have fun. If a game lasts me more than a month I consider it well worth the money.

One game I always like to play and have been playing on and off for the last four years is Shattered Galaxy. Its a mix between a MMORPG and a RTS, its very fun.

GameSpot review here .

EDIT: I suggest reading the review its good but it talks about the older version a couple things have changed but overall its the same game. If you start playing let me know I can help you out I just started a new character.

World of WarCraft -- www.blizzard.com/wow
GuildWars -- www.guildwars.com

Both MMORPGs, but GuildWars has no monthly fee (looks like they'll just charge for content updates)

WarCraft III is a must-buy.
It's great. Custom play is great too.
And then there's Command and Con-queer:Generals & it's exp. pak.

Both too dull for my liking, I prefer Age of Empires/Mythology and even Starcraft despite it's age.

Knights of the Old Republic is supposed to be a damn fine RPG romp if you're into D&D style gameplay, which I'm not

http://www.totalwar.com/community/rome.htm
some movies: http://www.gamershell.com/search?q=rome+total

i'm looking forward to this game as much as any other in 2004 personally.
also even though i have a personal hatred for mmorpgs, WoW looks awesome

edit: for RPGs that are already out, you may wnat to check gothic2 and arx fatalis (neither have i played, but they looked cool gothic1 was fun)
