Opposing Force Discussion (Possible Spoilers?)

I have only recently got a copy of this and started playing it... an interesting add-on and I like being able to command a squad and have a few new weapons etc.

It surprised me, when I entered a new section of the game, quite early on, and came across Gordon crossing over into Xen (the part at the end of HL1).

I just wanted to comment on this as I found it pretty cool. Anyone try following him? You fall to your death in Xen but see Gordon again there before you die.

I expected I would meet Gordon in this add-on because your mission (initially) is to take him out, but not this early on, and in such a cool situation.

Anyway, any comments on OP for me would be cool, cos this is my first time playing it...

i loved Opposing Force, It also felt like HL. I hated going in the tunnels with those big purple spawning shooting thingys. That was creepy, and when I finnally saw a ladder and heard my squadmates, "Hold on! get back!" and he started to openteh grate, I was like, "wow, I feel like im part of a family." Anywho, I gotta play it again...great atmosphere and the music had the same feel except with a military sounding feel. Hard to describe.

Enjoy is the anly advice I can give...Happy gaming

That's what I noticed, to me, Blue Shift didn't feel 100% like Half-Life but Opposing Force does to me, really does feel like I'm back (virtually) at Black Mesa...

Op4 was really fun. I also tried to follow Gordon.... I tried 2 or 3 times (slow learner? heh) .... "nooooo Gordon wait for me!!!" Those tunnel things were really scary. I devised this whole plan where I planted trip bombs and threw a satchel and got them to chase me around the corner....... and it didn't work; how upsetting. But then I figured out which weapon actually worked well against them.

Personally I liked Opposing Force more than Half-Life

And I don't know why.......

I just hope they get Gearbox to do Opposing Force 2. It would be nice to play Shepard again. Perhaps have him commanded by the Black Ops commander that commanded the Black Ops against Adrians squads.

Wow, neat idea.....
