Opinions on deus ex invisible war

seeing as deus ex invisible war will be out soon, i decided too see what ppl think of the changes.

For those of u who dont know, DEIW has many changes that ppl dont like, for instance, no weapons need to reload and all of the weapons have the same ammo type (from flamethrowers to pistols).

I feel that the game will be amazing to play because of the changes- despite the lack of realism. And as long as the game plays ok, its fine- isnt it? plus i really want to speak to ***blocked as i dont want to give away spoilers. gets u intrigued tho, doesnt it???***

i live in the UK btw, and although u USA ppl may have completed it 3 times allready, i have to wait till the 5th of march to play one of my fave games' sequels. and it is killing me. and no, i dont want to import it. its not killing me that much.

It's a pile of bollocks in my opinion. Ion Storm turned their backs to their fans and this is what they came up with. Big dissapointment.

hey ho another DX2 thread. i hate DX2. i had it imported from the US, paid extra to get it here quicker, and it was so shit that i've now consigned it to the great big game heaven in the sky.

Dedalus' quick capsule review: Piece of shit.

Impossible to say.
They are apparently remaking the gui and probably other things in the upcoming patches (and the european version)...

DX:IW was not quite as good as DE, but it was not a bad game either. It may disappoint many hard core DE fans becuae the gameplay is vastly different and the locations are not at all like those in DE.

However, I liked the game and the braying and neighing about unified ammo is all talk. The concept works well.

yes the traditional spelling is Daedalus but it's a long story as to why i'm using the same name sans the A. but i do know how it's meant to be spelt, it's just become habit now to use this version.

It's as involving as the first regards performing the quests and interactions as so on but it's severely lacking in epic scale (exact opposite really: everything feels so claustrophobically small) when compared to DX1. Added to that there's the CTD's, blurry feel to the graphics, crappy concept of 'unified ammo', laggy movement, no skill point system, etc., as we've all heard reported so often in the reviews and comments on forums/usenet. Speaking of reviews I can't remember the last time I've seen a game get such a drubbing for its deficiences in the article but then get such a high (avg. 80%) score...

Someone on the IonStorm forums posted a few older screenshots (high res, crystal clear lines, larger environments with more detailed structures, ) which showed what the game was going to look like before it got all consolised and lo!, verily did the fans remember the glory and in doing so were disappointed. I might have liked it had they stuck to that scale level myself, even with the 'streamlined' gameplay changes.

in PC gamer (UK) they gave it 93% and a lot of praise. i played the demo and also felt it was excellent with amazing attention to detail. It WILL be a good game, but whether ppl like it in comparison to the first is up to them.

Deus Ex = Damn i loved that game

Deus ex 2 = WTF?? no fastsave and the ammo is all alike?? ang also, it's optimized for 100% sneaking which the original Deus Ex isn't and therefore is golden!!

100% for sneaking eh? Sounds good, I think that what made deus ex good was the sneaking i never went into firefights bloody excellent. Although there are things about the ammo, inventory, multi-tools lockpicks and stuff i dont like the sound of however doesnt stop it being a good game.. hopefully
