New Half-Life 2 Technology to Premiere on G4's Attack of the Show
I've just receieved this news in directly from Tina Kowalewski over at G4 Media. For all of you wondering what's going on with "The Lost Coast" aka "The ATI Levels", here's a nice update:

Tune into G4’s ATTACK OF THE SHOW! next Wednesday to see Valve’s Doug Lombardi exclusively demonstrate an upcoming new level from what many have named the best PC game of all time – Half-Life 2.

This previously unseen Half-Life 2 area, dubbed “The Lost Coast”, demonstrates a brand new technology which Valve is implementing into the Source engine, called high-dynamic range lighting. This new technology enables a leap in lighting realism from even the current high benchmark set by Half-Life 2 and the existing Source engine. Tune in to glimpse the future of PC graphics with this live demonstration on G4’s ATTACK OF THE SHOW! LIVE next Wednesday [30th March] at 4PM PST / 7PM EST.
