CRAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWLINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG IN MYYYYYYYYYYYY SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
Seriously, I like the newer cd the best, theres about 2-3 good songs on there that aren't so "emo."
Faint, Numb, Somewhere I belong. I personally like those the best from linkin park right now....I await their new album.
Check out a hip-hop group called "Fort Minor" Mike Shinoda from LP pretty good at his own project. I like it a lot something different.

I liked linken park when I was in 7th grade. Then I turned 13 and realized they sucked. 6 years later they suck even worse.

Linkin Park's main problem is their shitty lyrics; they either need earthier words or a singer with more bass in his voice. Their non-vocal piece, Session (track one on the [I}Matrix: Reloaded[/I] OST) is quite good.

Linking park is unique...I will give them that.
If they ditched the rap and emo I might listen to em.

linkin park is unique? wtf? people were mixing rap and rock long before linkin park came around... if they ditched the rap and emo, they'd sound even more like everyone else than they already do.

Some best songs:
One Step Closer
Points of Authority
Numb
Faint
Papercut
From the Inside
Place for my head (live sped up version - the album version isn't great)
In The End
There...thats 8 i can think of
And i do listen to metal - right now im going through a huge phase where Lamb of God/In Flames rarely leave my cd player or MP3 playlist....
Good to be diverse people...accept the fact that people listen to different music to you (and there probably are 13yr olds on here too...of course they are going to listen to different things). <And im 19 before anyone asks and proud of my musical taste>

I liked them, still do. Lot of people suddenly don't like them when they're "uncool" or whatever, such as "I turned 14 and suddenly realise I don't like them".
If you liked a band then there must be a reason, and unless your musical taste changes a hell of a lot over a year, there will still be a little bit you should like. Unless you were a fan to be "hip" and "down with it".
I really liked the live version of Pushing Me Away, probably because Shinoda sings a line or two.

Have you listened to them? Most bands are just bass, guitar, singer and drummer. They don't have synthesized and mixed crap in there.
Yeah I guess the rap helps make them unique...im just not a fan of it. Oh well guess that's just one of the reasons I still don't listen to them.

Uh oh!! We have a contradiction here!! Metal is fluorishing in Europe WAY faster than in the US or Canada. I hope it fluorishes here too especially power/Symphonic metal..I love those kinds of metal.

**** Linkin Park. I listened to it about five years ago before it was all popular and on MTV and shit, but I grew out of it pretty damn quick.
Listen to real music. Nine Inch Nails, Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin, Phish, Tool, The Shins, Jimi Hendrix, Infected Mushroom... that's where it's at.

Where exactly in that post did I say Linkin Park is my favourite band? I've listened to Hybrid Theory and it was 'okay' at most; Cure for the Itchin was the only great track on the album since it was mainly instrumental.
listening to your mediocre music
You consider Violent Femmes, Zero 7, Hendrix. Air, Levellers, Tool, Massive Attack medicore bands?

Yeah I generalized harshly because I don't like it. Not all of it is like that but I don't like heavy metal much at all.
Glad to see you agree with my points however. :cheese:

Yeah there are too many of them. Heavy metal is too heavy for me. The heaviest ill go along the spectrum is chevelle, breaking benjamin, crossfade, shinedown and that's about it for popular bands you probally would know.

This thread is hilarious.
That's what I love about Linkin Park. Even people that have the absolute shittiest taste in music feel that they have proper ground to come out and bash anyone and everyone who even moderately likes them. To be fair, sure, Linkin Park is a terrible ****in' band. However, compared to some of the stuff people post on here and electronically felate over these boards, it's sonically brilliant.
And screw you guys who come on here and list 4 or 5 semi-obscure bands and 1 or 2 bona fide classic musicians and claim that you listen to good music. For whatever reason, most people enjoy listening to terrible music. None of you are any different based on what you've listed.
Anyway, to the original poster, I can't help you out. Posting in a forum specifically aimed at the minoritity of LP fans would probably be your best bet.

Linkin Park is poor. All their songs are about exactly the same thing: being a sad little whiny white rich kid. Jesus Christ, they pander to an audience whose attitude is sickening. People around the world are fighting for their lives every day, compared to them they have everything, yet they still cry and whine about completely insubstantial things.

Take a look at the makeup of Emo bands and the Emo fan base. I'll bet you a shiny penny you don't find many black kids.
Emo is a notoriously white movement.
