What exactly would you do if you were me? Upgrade comp hardware? Get "x" game? Buy a PSP maybe? I have no idea what to do with it.. I may just save it up? Any suggestions for this pc gamer.

btw throw this in OT, I always forget to change forums before posting damnit.

Well why kind of PC do you have now? If its not really worth upgrading then get something else.

that would be very nice, useing a horrible 14" compaq crt.. lol, but i've never quite been happy with the picture lcd monitors provide, they look odd at angles and have dead pixels / ghosting.

I'm aware monitors have come out that are aimed at gamers and have brighter pictures and faster refresh rates but I just dont want to go through all the trouble only to get a monitor that might have dead pixels. I shall see.

^ Well, I guess a 17-19" flat CRT monitor would be cool if you don't want LCD...

BUT, if you're young and don't have a car, I would save it towards something like that instead, which is what I'm doing with my $290 in christmas money...

For the LCD you can go the route I did and just bought a small LCD TV and just sort of used it as my monitor ;)

I have 0 dead pixels (I've never noticed a dead pixel on an LCD TV but for some reason I see some in LCD monitors... They do appear to be the same technology, so I'm not sure if TV's get a more careful check or what... I have no blur, no ghosting, etc etc... Very nice monitor :) It's a Cornea CT1702T, and I can also hook up my Xbox if I want (however _that_ looks like crap... obviously it's not running at the native resolution, so that's when you get uber blurry-ness)

Buy a hooker and make her drink dozens of bottles of Pepto-Bismol

You cant save up your christmas money! Its meant to be spent on presents that you would have gotten if your friends/family werent to lazy to figure out what they are. I spent my 80 bucks (yeah, thats right, only 80 you rich bastards) on a new ps2 controller and ncaa 06 football.

I would buy a monitor, or a hooker and make her drink dozens of bottles of Pepto-Bismol.

Right, a monitor, or a PCI-E mobo w/ a 6800GS maybe.
