Well, the demo sucks gameplay-wise, I mean, truly point and click shit

Graphics-wise, well, it looked kinda pretty, and when I set it up to anything above 1024x768 my X800 XT shit it's pants - sadly you can;t tweak the graphics options much, but it's nice to know that my comp can at least run UE3, even if it's not at 1280x1024 - hopefully UT2007 is optomized better

honestly, look at UT2007 screens if you wanna be impressed, this game really doesn't utilize all of the UE3 capailities, but maybe it's just cause I have an x800 XT, I'm sure it looks better on a 7800 GTX

The gameplay is nothing to write home about but it seems like the few of you who were actually able to play it, gave up on it too early. Aside from the weapon powerups, they sometimes spawn a middle powerup that upgrades your Middle-mouse button functionality. My personal favorite is the grappling hook, it allows you to go 'fly' throughout the level and blast the enemies on the ground. It's kinda cool when you see potential missiles fired at you barely miss while you go all spider-man everywhere. I got as far as having a mini-mortar nuke that raped everyone and their mother's every 10 seconds, but then the repetitive levels got to me and I uninstalled.

Overall, it's a glorified tech demo that does have some cool points for graphics and grappling-hook physics.

GFX card doesn't even matter as long as you can run it with this demo, there's no vid settings to customize.

I liked it, stayed for 2,000,000 points, but it only had 3 middile mouse weapons (mortar, piano, and tractor beam) so it got boring fast. Machine guns were awesome though.

I especially liked the deforming terrain, but to me a Mortar should make more a dent in the ground, but I still could dig under the doorways a little bit to slow down the enemy robots, I'll love it if someone could upgrade it so that it made like a 3 foot deep one and I could make a system of tunnels to hide in. :D

Well I did a little googling and discovered that this demo is pretty much the same thing as this other GDC 2005 techdemo called "RoboHordes," made to showcase dual-core Intel processors. Intels with at least HT can run it, but my guess is there is a performance boost for people who have an Intel dual-core processor. Can anyone confirm this?
