I bet this person believes that, with the low supply of xbox 360 consoles, that the price may go up, and he/she may make a profit on the retail of these extra consoles.

On the other hand, maybe this person has a lot of friends' birthdays coming up.

It definitely can, but then again other "newbs", I use that term loosely, don't want to think too much when gaming, so they buy consoles just to pop in a disc and play, it IS definitely cheaper however. :hmph: Personal Preference, that or low income :| .

Also I found it odd you didn't include your Memory RAM specifications in your signature, just thought I'd point it out :-/
