Hmm im getting worried about my new X800XL card, it has SilentPipe cooling which gives temperatures around 80C in games.

Now i get stuff like this in games ( only tested HL2DM, DoD Source and BF2 )

Dumb Dude is right those aren't anything to worry about. Those lines are the seperation in brushes from hammer. I believe they are more a flaw of the graphics engine than a problem with your video card.

Here are some quick shots of Dust, I don't have DoD Source.

The lines aren't too noticable, but in motion you see em a bit. Also, AA helps making them less noticable.

Turn up the AA to about 8xS and all should be fine and dandy.

6x is maximum in HL2 and no difference :O

ATI applies more AA the more it's at an angle. It won't use much AA if it's just a line.
My old 6800gt and my X850xt both did that depending on the game and resolution etc. No hardware is failing.

so you completly sure its not my hardware thats failing ?

I'm curious why did you switch from a 6800gt to a X850XT?

because 6800gt isnt as good as x800 series is :D

EDIT: I get these white lines in GTA San Andreas too, its incredibly annoying :(

Doesn't happen at all with my 7800GT. Meh.

Yeah I rarely see lines on my X800 Pro, and I only see them when I'm not paying attention to the game(actually playing not just walking around looking for them).

Or at least a flaw in the map design

Yeah sure, strange they appear everywhere in GTA San Andreas, which they didnt with my X800PRO

Pretty much everyone will get those darker lines in the first screenshot. The texture below the line is seperate from the one above it so they don't blend together. Basically, the texture is tiling and the bottom line of pixels are blending with the top pixels meaning the top part comes out partially grey.

I dunno what's happening in the second screenshot.

Edit: For example, here you can see them showing up as you get further away. Turning MIP maps off will get rid off them but it won't work for all and it makes it look crappy.
