This is exactly what the U.S was fighting the British for. I think its time for a revolution. (http://www.nytimes.com/2005/12/15/politics/15cnd-program.html?ei=5065&en=80681ada74c04ce9&ex=1135314000&partner=MYWAY&pagewanted=print)

I'm not surprised at all. Plus..even if it did screw with your rights and laws, it was necessary to avoid any other attacks.

yes but it's not the first time they've spied ontheir citizens ...long before 9/11 they had infiltrated americans universities and planted spies looking for dissent

I wonder what we would call the new country if we did revolt. I would have to go with "The Uber Nation that won't take shiznit from nobody"

probably "the country that steamrolled it's citizens when they tried to revolt"
any rebellion would be quashed in less than a week

A government couldn't wipe out all it's citizens just to quelb a revolt. And if enough citizens banded against the gov, they could easily overthrow it.

QFT, but sadly alot of us have been conditioned to be so self focused and indulgent as not to care.
Army's are supposed to be there to protect the people, not corporation's or government's,, 'people before profit' we forget its the masses that have the real power, at present we are in a dream like state of not caring because society is structured in such a way it makes it easier for us to be self centered and isolated, it really only takes a few thousand people willing to pull their fingers out of their asses to start something.

yes but it wouldnt take much for the government to slam the rebels as traitors and anti-american ..within a few days everyone would be against the rebellion ...dont underestimate the US PR machine ..they can be quite affective (http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ops/images/iraq-crater.jpg)

I have a bit of faith stern, give people some credit, not everyone is a lazy dumbass who wants some religious political nuts to sort their problems out for them.

I agree ....but there's far too much at stake ..why else would they spy on their own people why else would they make it so any sort of dissent can be seen as an act of agression against the government ...there's no way the government would be caught unawares ..I'm sure they have plans drawn up and scenarios all worked up ..the US would have to move deciviely and brutally if they want to retain control ..unforetunately that means that any response would HAVE to be brutal as they cant afford mistakes. The 60's shjould have taught us that the government wont sit by idly while their citizens plan a revolt

HA! Americans have guns too!!
I would hope those that serve in the Armed forces would have the balls to stand up to their government and fight for the people.
