As for the hardcore you were on about...nah not my cup of tea, my tolerance level goes up to KoRn and a couple of Slipknot songs but that's about it

I'm no chav, I'm just saying I don't like the hardcore stuff.. anything harder than Death From Above 1979 (not terribly hard) is too hard :D
By hardcore, are you referring to hardcore punk? Because I'm not really a fan of that. Shadows Fall is about as close as I get to it.

I used to be into tons of hardcore bands, but that was when bands like Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today, Strife, Earth Crisis, BOLD, Breakdown, Killing Time, Agnostic Front, Burn, Sick Of It All, Floorpunch, Judge, Painstake, etc. were kicking ass all over the place.
The scene, however, just isn't what it used to be...I am more into other stuff now, but I go back to them now and again.
I prefer the older, faster hardcore of bands like MIA, TSOL, Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Broken Bones, Dead Kennedys, Articles of Faith, Adrenalin OD, Final Conflict, Government Issue etc.

you mean hardcore as in:
the number twelve looks like you
fear before the march of flames
as i lay dying
hopefall
between the buried and me
everytime i die
poison the well
terror
the black dahlia murder
the bled
the red chord
robinson
bleeding through
misery signals
alexisonfire
throwdown
beloved
bury your dead
from a second story window
circle takes the square
converge
flesh and blood robot
horse the band
phew. i dont really listen to it much, but know alot of it since a few of my friends do

The only kind of core I listen to is grindcore. And that's only because the bands will put cool sound clips from movies into it. Otherwise, I wouldn't even bother.

A lot of that is just post melodic hardcore (in other words what emo bands consider their genre to be), but there is some true hardcore in there
Pure hardcore is stuff like Terror, Throwdown, Champion, Bury Your Dead

Throwdown are about as hardcore as my foot. Aren't they that straight edge band? Or is that someone else with a simular name. I dunno, my bad if not. I believe they are supporting Arch Enemy and SYL in a couple of weeks. Shame, really, I'd rather SYL just had more time to play. Well, I'd actually prefer a SYL gig in general. I don't like AE much.

Man, when i read this thread yesterday and downloaded the sample, i thought the same thing! Im way into Hardcore Techno, like Terrorfakt and www.nordcore.de.. My favorite local club is Shocks(.se) in cold ass, rainy Gothenburg, Sweden. Any hardcore hardcore-fan would love it there... Check out pics: (http://www.shocks.se/media.php)
(Sorry for stealing thread.... :imu: )

Hardcore is the suck. All they do is mash guitars and scream into the mic. Unless your not talking about uber hardcore, but hardcore still isn't very good IMO.

What is this uber hardcore to which you are referring? I have never heard that phrase.

Drowning Pool is quite the opposite of heavy metal or any genre of metal there is. Unless we're talking about Nu-metal here.
Hardcore FTL.
