PLEASE READ BEFORE POLLING AND POSTING!
This thread will not turn into a Flame thread or a Trolling thread. This is a general discussion on the topic at hand. DO NOT post anything that will induce a trolling or a flaming thread please. This must be a discussion and not a War. To keep this thread on topic there are 2 questions I will post below, and please respond to the questions as everyone has their own opinion and try to respect everyones' opinion.
The poll is divided into age groups and not specific ages. You do not have to reveal your age if you do not want to. But I please do ask you to answer the questions below for the sake of the thread.
Q1) Do you think Virginity is a Large factor in life? Why or why not?
Q2) Is virginity viewed more as a status than anything else?? (Some people tend to get judgemental about virginity.) What do you think??

17. Its the legal age in the UK, so no judgement. After about 6 months with my girlfriend, so nothing silly, it was important.
1) Virginity is a word that does have a big meaning. I don't see any problem with losing it to someone you dearly love and cherish. Losing it to any random slag i find sad.
2) I don't really think so, at 17/18 years everyones doing the same thing, and its kind of expected that people would be having sex and some not. Nothing is ever a point of ridicule either way. From religious groups thats a different story, but who cares about them. I don't think anyone minds it in a proper long term relationship at the legal age. Virginity is nothing to be ashamed of to have or lost. Status doesn't exist where i live due to it.

I'm nearlly 20 and still a virgin, through my own choice. (believe me if i was intent on having sex i would have by now)
It is not a major factor of life at all imo.....it's just having sex.
It's pleasure or the ability to reproduce, some see it as more than that but that's their choice.
I don't need it to be happy, i don't care that i'm a virgin, i might not always be a virgin but i am for the near future.

1.) Virginity is a big factor only because everybody makes it out to be. I personally don't think it is, but I certainly certainly understand the pressure. I know there are plenty of people who would lie about it because they didn't want to be seem inexperienced or uncool.
2.) Virginity is only a status in that it means you've not had sex. That's it.

1) Virginity is important if you want it to be important. It's all in your mind.
2) For the most part, it is viewed as status by many people. It's up to the person whether to put significance in it or not.

This is a strange one for the internet.
But I'll bite, 19.
Q1) Do you think Virginity is a Large factor in life? Why or why not?
Well, yes it is, because all things come to an end. Meaning that it's a natural progression for a lot of people. But it differs person to person.
Q2) Is virginity viewed more as a status than anything else?? (Some people tend to get judgemental about virginity.) What do you think??
I think too many people associate far too many negative things about virginity, like I said, it should be viewed as a progression, and not something you should be desperate to be rid of because of peer pressure, or anything else silly like that.
Still a virgin, 17
1) Virginity is only considered an important factor by certain immature people that think sex is all there is in life. I don't think it is an important factor, whether your a virgin or not should not really have any bearing on other things
2) It is viewed as a status, but it isn't one that bothers me, would rather wait for someone i actually cared for to do it with. For instance, i probably could have had sex with my ex, but i felt that it would have been pointless as i did not want to be in the relationship in the first place.

That said, I have absolutely zero regrets about how I lost it.

1.) Virginity is a big thing when to comes to "big things," like marriage. I view it like this: would you like do give your spouse a crisp Hersey's chocolate bar, or a semi-melted, sticky one?

1.) No. Sex is a human act. Why would being abstinate be so important *unless you're so afraid of STDs*
2.) No...it shouldn't be judged upon. I mean, some christians really dislike you if you've had sex........but in the adult life, no.

I wanted it out of the way - personally, I didn't want my first time to be built up to be anything it wasn't. Plus with regards to the the whole marriage thing, I'd prefer to give the girl I love a good time well before marrying her.
:)
I'm not afraid of STDs, I practice safe sex - I've had myself checked up a month or so after I've slept with someone unsafely. I've slept with 6 different girls in the past 2 and a half months, and I was seeing someone for a month of that (I didn't **** around on her, I never would) - she was the only girl I slept with unprotected.
Status-wise, I think that if you're mature and adult about the whole thing, it doesn't matter either way.

02-12-2005, 09:04 PM
it's a big deal with marriage. I think people build it up way too much. Yay for sex, but meaningless sex for the point of not being a virgin anymore is no fun, i mean it is--but it isn't, if that makes sense.
and don't buy into that safe sex thing, my friends just had a baby (they're old enough and have good careers so it'll be ok) but they used a condom, the pill, and a small insert for the girl that's suppose to prevent pregancy. Now they have a baby boy. So shit does happen.

Holy shit :p (Though it's not that uncommon to lose it that early)
17.
Q1) I don't think virginity itself is a big factor. But I think a more or less serious relationship is. Everyone I've met who has been in a somewhat serious relationship, and experienced all the ups and downs of love, has alot more maturity, self distance and wisdom than those who haven't.
Q2) Maybe a bit, but in my opinion it doesn't matter. It's much harder to keep your virginity than to lose it, unless you're suffering serious social deprivation or something like that.
Waiting to have sex until marriage. In my opinion? The stupidest ****ing idea ever.
You should seriously know yourself and your partner enough in that aspect before you should ever think of marrying her/him.

Thirteen. What do you want? Photos? I'd give you the girl's name to contact her, but she died in a car accident* about 10 years ago. I don't see what's so unbelievable about it - most 13 year olds are rampantly horny little bastards. Given the right stimuli (hello alcohol) and circumstances (house party!), miracles can happen. Q1) Virginity is a large factor in life, if you still have it. Throughout school i thought everyone was getting it, and i never had. I'd been close but just hadnt. Now in retrospect, losing it really isnt as big of a deal as the hormones and teenage angst makes you think it is. Losing your virginity in no way changes you as a person, although a bad experience may make you apprehensive towards sex in the future, it hasnt changed you and its all about being with the right person.
Q2) In school virginity is a status from my experience, with girls and boys. Thats just the way kids are, i think... everyone looks up to somoene thats done something they havent, especially something as illegal and new at the time as sex. I think the media's concentration on sex plays a huge role in this.
Once people are mature and you realise people have different lives, there's no timetable to lose it, then people will accept you wether you've had sex or not, done drugs or not, bunjee jumped or not etc. But its easy to say that once you have lost it, when i was a virgin, i didnt think i'd ever lose it. ever. but it happens.

Well, you know, it's easy to get mixed up. If 1\over c^{2}}{{\partial^2 G}\over{\partial {T}^2}}-{1\over{\partial {r}^2}}(rG)={1\over 4\pi r^{2}}\delta(T)\delta(r), then we have 7 STD infested forum members. If you mix up the obvious equation ({1\over c^{2}}{{\partial^2 }\over{\partial {T}^2}} - {{\partial^2 }\over{\partial {r}^2}}\right)(rG) = 0, well, it's easy to see your mistake.

Q1) Do you think Virginity is a Large factor in life? Why or why not?
No it's not important. It doesn't matter where your first time was and who it was with. Thats the past, and unless you believe in abstinence it shouldn't matter. Having sex doesn't make the ladies a slut or anything. Sex is fun, and people of all ages should participate if both parties agree. Always wear or a rubber or make sure she's going to take her pills.

Meh, virginity in no way matters to marriage IMO. If you're going to get married, I would hope that both parties feel a good deal of trust between their bodies, among other things.
Wether or not you're a virgin or have had sex with six women previously in your life should matter little.

At home in his bedroom, he was flopped on the bed. He was lighting a candle and flipping through some old porno magazines, getting ready to beat off. This is after he's heard from his Navy brother. That helpful hint about how Arabs beat off. The kid looks around for something that might do the job. A ballpoint pen's too big. A pencil's too big and rough. But dripped down the side of the candle, there's a thin, smooth ridge of wax that just might work. With just the tip of one finger, this kid snaps the long ridge of wax off the candle. He rolls it smooth between the palms of his hands. Long and smooth and thin.
Stoned and horny, he slips it down inside, deeper and deeper into the piss slit of his boner. With a good hank of the wax still poking out the top, he gets to work.
Even now, he says those Arab guys are pretty damn smart. They've totally reinvented jacking off. Flat on his back in bed, things are getting so good, this kid can't keep track of the wax. He's one good squeeze from shooting his wad when the wax isn't sticking out anymore.
The thin wax rod, it's slipped inside. All the way inside. So deep inside he can't even feel the lump of it inside his piss tube.
aha! do you have that website? I wanted to print out the story and show it to my friend.

Any book that contains:

-A group of people eating a pregnant woman's unborn baby.
-A group of people eating the asscheek of an unconscious woman.
-A man cutting off his own penis.
-A man attempting to eat and subsequently choke to death on the aforementioned penis.

-A group of people eating the asscheek of an unconscious woman.
-A man cutting off his own penis.

You know, I don't really hang with the Chuck. "Fight Club" is probably the only movie I like better than the book. I think he's trying too hard to be ironic like Kurt Vonnegut. I've read "Fight Club" and "Choke", and "Invisible Monsters" but I don't know, I just couldn't get that into them. Ah well.

I can see him, though, in me minds eye... fapping into the wind and hoping someone catches his airborne minimes so he can advance his armies of eleven-toed kin.
By chance, a young female is hit by some flying wrigglys and absorbs it into her skin, and then begins to produce his offspring, which form as a tiny lump then spring from her skin with a tiny pop. Their development is immediate- already they can walk and see, and look like miniature versions of their parents. And such is the way of the world.

Q1) Do you think Virginity is a Large factor in life? Why or why not?
Nope, it doesn't make a difference to the maturity or competance of a person whether they have or they haven't.
Q2) Is virginity viewed more as a status than anything else?? (Some people tend to get judgemental about virginity.) What do you think??
I think so. Some people boast that they are not a virgin, some people boast that they are. However it's not really important at all.

Do you think Virginity is a Large factor in life? Why or why not?
Nope, as long as you satisfy yourself some point in life by bringing up a family etc, its not a race.
Is virginity viewed more as a status than anything else?? (Some people tend to get judgemental about virginity.) What do you think??
Yeah, it is, I guess its a symbol of coolness for some people, but I don't agree and am not impressed by those who boast about early loss of viginity (ironically I lost mine underage lol)

1) (losing your) Virginity isnt as important as people make it out to be, imo. Its just a way for two people to be closer or even a way for people to enjoy themselves. Its important as a sign of a developing relationship, but its not a central factor to your life
2) A lot of people fixate on it without needing to. I can see how it could be used to attribute a definition to someone, but you shouldnt be doing that to begin with, so yeah.... who cares?
Also, stay on topic and mature.

Q2) Is virginity viewed more as a status than anything else?? (Some people tend to get judgemental about virginity.) What do you think??
Virginity isn't a status. It's just the fact that you haven't done it before.
16. Virgin. Don't care.
1. No,
2. Probably yes, but it shouldn't be.
Personally I would hate to have sex if I, or the girl in question, wasn't ready. It's because of this that I intent to never get completely smashed at a house party... :P

It is at the time.. I mean it's a huge part of your teenage-20's life, even if it's not as important after.
Q2) Is virginity viewed more as a status than anything else?? (Some people tend to get judgemental about virginity.) What do you think??
It's not really a status thing as far as I'm concerned.. It's not a huge deal to anyone I know either way.
