I got to try the FFXII demo today.... It was fantastic. I know that alot of people are going to be put off by the different style of gameplay, but I really liked it. It's like an MMO... only single player...

The music was awesome. The visuals were awesome. The controls were good, thought the inverted camera thing was a bit annoying. The right analog stick was for camera movement. By inverted, i mean that left is right and right is left. pushing up on the right analog stick would give you a top-down overhead view, while pushing down would zoom in for some close up action. The camera movement can best be described as a camera on a stick that can be pivoted. After a couple minutes, it begins to feel natural. The animation and spell effects were awesome. This is a definite MUST BUY for me.

I have the demo...it comes with Dragon Quest 8...which is a spectacular RPG! I can't stop talking about the music..it's fully orchestrated..and very well done..and the game lasts over 100 hours.

I have been too busy with DQ8 to play the demo for FF12 yet. I read the review of it on 1up and it seems like an interesting take on the same tired formula. Hopefully the gameplay changes will be enough to make me like it because after 9 I started not caring about the series as much. 10 just wasn't my thing. I don't think they can take the graphics much further anyway, so the gameplay adjustments better be terrific if I am going to shell out another $50....
