I just wanted to know what this community thinks of Elvis Presley. I never really liked him until a few months ago, and upon actually listening to him I thought, "This is great!" I know he didn't write any most of his songs but he is really good.

...Eh? How do you mean?

I respect him for his time and his contribution to music, but I certainly don't care to listen to him nowadays.

Elvis rules. I have a few albums of his.

Elvis has a few nice songs, but though he's remembered for all of his rocking, swing-style songs, the vast majority of what he did were boring ballads, especially late in his career. I respect his contributions to rock music greatly, but I think he burned out after the first couple of years he was in the spotlight. He is probably secondary only to The Beatles in terms of influence on rock, and that is something that you have to respect.

I just wanted general opinions about him. I was listening to the 50 Gold Hits album and thought it was just incredible.

Right then... I voted Good because of his historical importance.

I just wouldn't be caught listening to it.

I don't care too much about Elvis... he isn't an icon in my world. I don't like his music, I dont really care for him. Its nice alot of people thought he was great, but this devotion is unhealthy.

So I voted bad. I would have voted indifferent if there was an option to do so.

He's a great musician, but he's paranoid, he tried to get The Beatles kicked out of America, using his ties with Nixon.

He was badass. I also sort of look like him before he got fat and old. Maybe that's why I like him.

Most of what he did was shit, but he's done some good stuff that is remembered far more then any of the shit.
