I never had the chance to play Resident Evil 4 on the Gamecube, so I am looking forward to the Playstation 2 Version, I think that the developers have done a great job porting RE 4 to the PS2, take a look at this pics, I recognize that the Gamecube version is superior in the graphic department, but I am still amazed of how well the PS2 version is looking, to be honest, I thought the PS2 would no be able to handle it and that it would look worse, plus the PS2 have 16:9 and progressive scan support (480P) witch is a nice plus for the few lucky of us that have HDTV. So what do you guys think of the pics and are you looking forward to this game too?

Now that is some very good comparison pictures. Nice finding, rAdIOhEaD. Thanks.

The GC version looks better though, especially in some of the pictures the lightning is better in the GC compared to the PS2 version.
And the textures aren't as good, especially if you look at these pictures.

Still, I'm mighty impressed by the PS2. It still got some raw power in it! :)

it's just darker, the view distance was shortened, they took away the haze, and of course the textures aren;lt quite as nice, but it's definitely not enough of a difference to make me run out and buy a cube, i'll be gettin this for the PS2 i guess

Looking at those pics makes me want to play it all over again :)

Both versions are very good btw. The GC version does look a little better, and the pad is more suited to the game (better analogue control), but there's not a great deal of difference.

This is a game every gamer should own, and still the best game to be released this year (imo, of course :))

Its much better for gamecube if you ask me. In terms of controls and everything. Infact, its so a gamecube game. Bastard sony. SKUM!

There really is very little difference between the two versions, Ichi, both in terms of visuals and controls. It's certainly better on the GC, though, but not by alot.

If you have a PS2 it's not worth buying a GC just for RE4 (it is worth getting one for all the other great GC games)

I'll be getting it for the PS2. I played it on the GC. Good stuff.

Don’t forget they added widescreen 16:9 and 480P (Progressive Scan) Support, this along with the extra modes and playable characters more than makes up for the slightly inferior graphics…

Resident Evil 4!!

I've only played the demo of FEAR and read a few reviews. I've also spoken to friends who have finished it. FEAR sounds like a cracking little game, and well worth gettng, but RE4 is one of the best games ever made :)

It really is superb (better than HL2 imo)

No doubt! Good call.

I'm on a Resident Evil 4 kick right now. I love playing "The Mercenaries". The graphics, sound, animation, and gameplay is all top-notch.

God, I lost about a month of my life to this game. At this point in time, I've beaten it a grand total of 14 times on various difficulties, with every weapon unlocked and ever upgrade obtained. Saying it's addictive would be a fatal understatement.

For a PS2 game, it looks excellent. The GameCube version is noticably better in screenshots, and the lighting effects and such are bound to be better (and the bump-mapping featured later in the game is probably going to be much prettier), but in motion I think it will be tough to tell the difference between the two, especially if you've never played the original version.

Excellent comparison. It's not all the time that I actually see pics from one same game being compared by two different consoles. In this case the cube takes the win, by far.

Everybody is in love with RE4..yet to me, every single one sucked bawls after the first. The first was awesome..loved playing it. Just everything after was so..bland.

Have you played no. 4?

It's absolutely nothing like rest of the series.
