Hey, I just got doom 3 today for $19.99. And am wondering if you guys can tell me a good forum for just Doom 3 kidna like this one.

Considering the question posted has already been aptly answered I don't see what's wrong with giving ones own oppinion of DooM 3.

Personally I hated the darkness, the "1-3 monsters per area max", and the cheap scares. Those 3 things composed about 5 percent of the original two DooM-games, but were extremely dominant in DooM 3. Very dissapointing.

I think both quake iv and prey are going to put the DooM-engine to MUCH better use. *crosses fingers*

...it only took six posts before anti-Doom3 comments began. Seriously, you'll have better luck on another forum. I, in total defiance of the local charter, loved Doom3, the expansion pack, and still play them occasionally. If you can filter out the bashing, I'm down for a chat here.

Doom 3 was a fairly average game, the expansion was better, but not fantastic. I'm sure you could chat about it here though. Doom 3 bashers like myself can keep shut the ****ed up.

I find the general games forum at halflife2.net quite knowledgable, and while you may get comments when you post questions here you will also most likely get good answers. I don't see how that is out of order.

Its not out of order, it would just be whole lot more preferable if the thread was not a big bash Doom 3 thread. If he wants, and others, to talk about the game in this thread, then thats fine - as long as its not polluted with trash.

That's fine by me too, up to the "not polluted with trash" thing. Differing oppinions about a subject is in no way trash. Arrogance, though, is trash. Arrogance coupled with ignorance to the extreme, as displayed in this thread, is the worst kind of trash. It annoys me.

Trash as in, lets keep our Doom 3 opinions to ourselves when others are peacefully discussing the game. You can join in, its just better if its more "Well, I though it was linear blah blah" not "D00m 3 sux0rs". I think by now we know the general opinion of Doom 3 on this board, and its not going to change. Nor does it need to be repeated.

Anywho. ROE was definitely alot better than Doom 3, especially in the boss department. The hunters were far more entertaining than say the Vagary, or hell demon. That said, Betruger at the end of ROE was crappy.

I liked the Bruisers. They looked neat and were pretty tough - I have a really hard time taking them without slowing time down.

I loved Doom 3, thoroughly enjoyable.

For me, there were hard parts the first time I played. Once through the game, and I knew where everything would be, it was easier. For example, the room where all the Trites come out caught me off guard the first time and I took a beating. The Cherubs still give me a hard time and I typically use an explosive weapon to kill them.

Yeah, well wouldn't it be a bit too weird if you were actually dreaming about Doom III? If you do then I think you'd better leave gaming for a day or two...
