What was the deal with this game. Is this actually the same team that made the first games? I remember there being some confusion about game names.

heh yes and no ..the PC OP remake was supposed to be OP but they dont have the rights to the OP name so are calling it Armed Assualt ..but it's not OP2 ..this is the xbox version that has been delayed for more than 2 years

Does your game have a problem running after installing all 500 of the patches?

They need to release one patch that ends all patches... Having to download all of the ones that are out there is confusing and messy.

OFP: Elite is being made by Bohemia and is the XBox version with improved graphics.

Yep that's the one, except Armed Assault is more of a remake of the original than an expansion. You won't need the original to play it. Operation Flashpoint: Elite on the Xbox and Armed Assault will be very similar engine wise at least.

So everyone, when Codemasters releases "Operation Flashpoint 2" (they still hold the name) it's not the true sequel! ;)

Yeah, I had to install 4 patches. Their patches page told me to download a specific patch for OFP:Gold, but when I tried to run it it told me I need all the other patches :/

so OFP2 is a complete overhaul.. everything is new and looks different and better.. yet it = not the true follow up, basically Meaning not next Gen.
