Installing HL2

I'm installing it. Because I used to have it but my brother took it with him when he movied out. Uh...Since my CoD keeps cutting out and I don't wanna kill my computer with HL2 what should I have my settings at?

i would say start at low and if you can handle that work your way up to the best your computer can handle, although it may be better to play with lwo everything so you dont kill the hardware.

yeah but ive got crappy hardware and its overclocked so its already not the best thing to be doing,

youll at least kill your patience if you have like 5 fps

Radeon 9800 Pro series. It's not a custom PC its an HP Pavillion. Uh....yeah I need specific Settings I was just playing the demo today off steam cuz i haven't registered yet and My Game keeps cutting out. I dunno if its a virus or if its some gay glitch.

i think it might be a power issue because usually prebuilt come with crappy psu

I'm so broke. It used to run HL2 I dunno what's happening. WHY IS IT HAPPENING!?!?! How much would a new power supply cost or a nice Radeon Cost? I heard that a 9800 is top of the line. But I dunno. It runs it great but I swear it cuts out at random Places and its the gayest thing ever and its really pissing me off.

9800 isn't top of the line. The 850XL is the top of the line. And in a few weeks, the 1800XL will be the top of the line.

accutlly 850xt is top of the line for agp but 7800gtx is top of line 1800xl dosent beat the 7800gtx

Yeah well its a power supply issue. Yeah. My other PC is now dead. like. It can hardly "wake up" when i turn it on. It gets like half way and says "PC Entering Power Saving Mode" So yeah. Screw HL2 installation for a while until I get a new power supply. thank you newegg.com! THANK YOU!!

lol entering power saving mode i think u mean hibernate but ive never heard of a pc doing that

OK well ACTUALLY I burnt out my Video Card and All i have left is the standard video card that comes with the PC And it sucks sooooooooooo badly.
