Alright we have everything in place, but the computer wont start up. When we start up the powersupply the green light on the mobo lights up. But once we push the power botton, the comp doesnt turn on. Now we think we are hooking up the power botton wrong to the mobo. Anyone know what might be the problem.

check the manual, if you follow it closely you shouldnt have any problems

Like bryan said, check your manual; and like you thought, you probably hooked up the power switch cable to the wrong place or backwords.

We pretty much tryed everything. I would like if someone could post a pick of where the wires need to be placed exactly. This is the case and mobo i have.

We read the manual plenty of times. Im starting to think the power cables can be broken. Is there any other reason why the comp wont start. Keep in mind the mobo green light is on.

I'd make sure all power cables are tightened VERY well (push too hard, seriously, it'll feel like it's gonna break but then it snaps in that last click, happened to me on my first build). Other than that... I can't think of anything.

Check.
The.
God.
Damn.
RAM.

It was my one and only problem. Remember to only put one slot of RAM in at first, and try placing it in various slots each test run. My Mobo manual said slotA, when it really was slot B.

the little wires that connect the power button to the motherboard (there should be 2) might be reversed on the little pins you plug them into on the motherboard.

Double check the manual and make sure you have them in the right order on the right pins.

Well if you have another case handy you could always hijack the power switch cables from that to your mobo to find out if Thermaltake ones have a short in them.

the times when the ram hasn't been right for me, it just makes a continous beeping sound that doesn't stop till you turn it off.

have you plugged in the square four pin plug from the PSU to the motherboard.

just heard something like this before and that was the problem

unplug all unnecessary peripherals, pci cards, additional gfx cards etc. Hopefully narrow down the problem. Also unplug all the little usb/firewire connectors that your case has, my mate had plugged his in wrongly and it was causing the pc to not start.

make sure your PSU is connected to the special processor power connector too

Make sure the power button has been plugged in the right way round. The coloured wire should be on the positive pin.

and usually the text on the connector pins faces out the way so you can see it, if you know what I mean

It was a misplaced wire. Thx for all your help.
