I have just removed my redundant modem to free up a pci slot and fitted a wireless card in its place.
I am now having a terrible time trying to set up my Router/connection.
Has removing the old modem caused these problems.
thanks:cheers:

Make sure you've uninstalled/disabled the old modems drivers.

Thanks for the replies.
The problem I have is that when I go to My Network Places and Network Connections to set up the connection, they are blank and I don't understand why.
The only thing that I could thinkof is that removing the old dial up modem has caused a problem.

look in device manager like i said earlier
Firstly, make sure you uninstalled your old modem drivers. You will find them in the device manager under "modems".
Next, make sure your network card is installed properly. Again in device manager, look under Network devices and check that its showing up. If its not there, reinstall the drivers from the disk supplied with it. If it is there but has a yellow question mark, reinstall the drivers. Also check to make sure it is enabled.
If its installed, working properly and enabled, it should work.
