Holy crap! I didn't know it was going to come out that soon. I was under the impression that it was coming out around November or December. Awesome news! The next few months are going to be expensive!

hehe I agree RTCW single player was boring as hell ..but the mp kicked ass, it was IMHO one of the best multiplayer games ever ...played it straight for 2 years (that and rtcw ET) ..but then again id didnt make wolf mp

I'll demo it. I've never owned a Quake game before, only ever played in spurts at friend's houses. If it's excellent, I'll buy it. If everyone tells me to buy it, I'll buy it cheap this time next year. If it sucks... I won't buy it at all. :p

Quake 3 was all about multiplayer. There wasn't really a story behind it.

Quake 4 is a true sequel to Quake 2. It's single player focused and actually has a story behind it.

For me it depends on the single player campaign (is there one?) which will most likely be short and shitty. If that is the case I will pass. I need atleast 10 hours of a SP campaign before I even consider buying it. No MP for me.

Yes, the game has a single player campaign! I'm buying Quake 4, it looks to be a break from the other Quakes, especially when in this one you can operate vehicles. The truth of the matter is such that even though all of id's games are basically the same (I've said that all along) people still enjoy each of their games for what they are, just pure and simple FPS. If they're still enjoyable who cares if they aren't doing anything different? There are enough small changes (graphics, weapons, enemies, gameplay alterations) to make it seem different enough for me, and obviously the million or so other people who buy every new release by id.

Though we mus'nt forget Quake 4 isn't being developed by id, it's being developed by Raven so it'll probably have a very different feel.

It's slightly different from Quake 3:Arena in the multiplayer. I for one am sick of people saying 'no new ideas blah blah' drives me up the up the wall. What have these 'new' ideas so far produced?

**** all interesting games. Games seem to be slowing down in terms of pace, and getting more boring (CS:S for example) RTCW: ET was awesome, and that's the only class/team-based game I've enjoyed in ages.

I just want something new, and fast. Quake 4, is that :)
