I've always wanted to casually strole up to nazis and punch them in the face ..especially while bullet proof
the game is called The Outfit for xbox360 ..apparently you play as an uber-soldier commanding a crack team of other ....uber-soldiers

I think ww2 still has a lot of milking ahead of it. I can easily forsee a dozen ww2 game sfor every next gen engine over the next 10-20 years.

This is what I hate about a lot of developers. They think the only thing that needs to be upgraded is the number of polygons or graphical effects. They don't seem to realize that as you increase the image quality and make things look more realistic they actually have to interact more realistically... or you'll ruin the realism. For example, you can't lift things without something actually coming in contact with them. They should work on making him grab the guy's lapel or neck so that it looks even remotely feasible.
On a side note: Is this game about short recoil?

Graphics look OK but the game concept is retartded.

That's why they write previews of games, so we DO know. :)
Most games have you set up as an uber-soldier. Would you really want to be another Joe-Nobody in a war? Or would you be the hero? Which do you dream about more, having a desk job or being SuperMan/Woman?
Games are all about entertainment, and there isn't a lot of entertainment in normal life TBH...

Sounds like some of you forgot what "fun" means! I'm happy that there's finally a semi-serious WW2 with some gameplay based on bar-brawl tactics. It should make a break from the crap like Call of Duty and Medal of Honour: Extreme Enemy Bunkers or whatever they've got.

some of you seem to be forgetting that if games aren't meant to be just like real life, or who would buy them?
but ive read about this game, it seems pretty crazy. apparently you can call for reinforcements and tanks will drop onto the battlefield out of the sky.

Actually... I rather like games where i'm *NOT* the hero. Being the hero is so cliche in gaming. If you work to become the hero, as an ordinary man, then thats a good game to me. No fun when you start as the hero.
For example... I love a game where I am pitted against the game world as one of many, with me, and my other A.I. Buddies. Games like doom, and duke nukem, where you're just a single man against an army are dull, in my eyes... done too many times. Games like call of duty, where you're the central figure from your own point of view, but all the other buddies you have are just as important to the goal from a storyline standpoint... except for the fact that they don't usually live as long :)
Battallion of commandos taking on an army, with you pitted as a single soldier? Dream game for me.
Single, lone soldier taking on an entire army, with you being that soldier? Less appealing game to me.
Anyways, I dont know how many times I can reiterate what I mean, so i'm going to stop now.

Damnit, I hate these kind of games. I don't want to be uber soldier german killer. That's why I loved the original Rainbow Six's so damn much. You're just another guy, make sure you do your job, and your squad mates do theirs, and this mission so go off without a hitch.

Also, one of my favorite yet never-heard-of game, Soldiers: Heroes of World War II, has a whole campaign for the germans. As well as the Americans, British, and Russians.
Only games I can think of that don't let you play as Germans are the mainstream CoD and MoH. But even then you can do it in multiplayer.
As of now the only WW2 game I'm waiting for is Company of Heroes.

Soldiers: Heroes of World War II is an awesome game, but sadly recieved far too little attention from the media and players... which makes multiplayer lousy cause you can never find a game. Though, they did implement multiplayer game hosting/searching badly. When you got into a game? A blast, however!

why? not you seem to forget Russia attacked Poland the same time as Germany,they where allies Germans betrayed them,they betrayed the western allies
They attacked Finnland and so on .They arent as "good" as you think

no kidding, would be cool to see a game where your a young german farm kid forced into fighting for the german army. The story line could be taken in any direction depending on how the player chooses his or her actions. I think would be interesting.

I'd like to see a WWI game played from a german's perspective.
Although I admit it would be a bit boring.
Level 1: sit in trenches and wait. level 2: blindly run 20 yards while screaming and getting mowed by machine gun fire. level 3: sit in more trenches and wait.

there will always be an audience for ww2 games just like there is for ww2 movies. I personally love them and cant get enough ..although I do agree that "you against the entire german army" gets a little stale ..give me a GTA-type ww2 game any day

I guess you didn't like Capcom's (via Data East) Commando back in the day? Pity...loads of old-school fun.
This game looks pretty darn entertaining too. I'm with Stern when he says he's for a GTA-style WW2 game--lots of possibilites for mayhem and fun!
