Im thinking of making a DOD source clan [Archive]

I would really like to start gettin into a DoD:S clan. I know a girl who does commercial web design and I might be able to get her help. Anyways I've always been pretty good at DoD, and so far DoD:S too. I can cap flags like a mofo when it comes down to the hard pushes or just sneak behind all the fightin and sprint my happy ass past everyone for a win. I'm best with the BAR and STG44, but rifles can be my thing too.

sounds like fun, i havent been in a clan for about a year, and that was BF1942, but im awsome at DOD: Source (atleast i think i am good, I was da bomb at DOD, and i just got source 2 days ago), so if ur interested, my email is ktsr182@insightbb.com, oh if u want web space, i have a freind and i use his server, its down now but it will be up in a week or so (changed service providers)...

my computer just died on me, it started smelling like burnt stuff and died, so i took it apart and the place where power cord plugs in burnt a hole through my beautifull motherboard... luckily i got 31 days left on my warrenty... so I just have to use my parrents cruddy one, and ill just be off and on untill i get my computer back from HP... have fun w/o me!

I have a paid website.. kettles.us, i can make a subdomain for it (4gb free space), or i can get some free hosting through my friend (800-1600mb space, then all we would need is a domain name (2.95/yr at yahoo). Just thought I would try and do something while I wait for my laptop to get back.

yea kettles that sounds good fella.
Its takin shape now! no1 has got back to me on the clan name yet so until its confirmed a subdomain cant really be decided. I think the domain should just be the clan name or something similar.

Ive not thought of anything better than 'Fraggers Utopia' [FU] as a name

If anyone else has any ideas plz post so a decision can be made.

Dunno if this is a good suggestion or not, but we could mix Elite Alliance, and Fraggers Utopia, to Utopia of Elite Allied Fraggers [UEAF], just a suggestion... untill we get a name decided, ill use http://ueaf.kettles.us ... just temporaly

yep sounds like a plan, im fine with that kettles. Keep the suggestions cumin ppl cz this will be a permanent name when sum1 decides to finalise it.

I dont know how other things like steam servers are coming along but the domain start seems good.
If any more help is needed with anything (thats not too technical) then let me know

Seems like the clan setup is goin slower than i would of thought but we'll get ter in the end. The biggest step is finding a valid server to host our matches on.

OK guys I'm sorry but Ive been busy the last little bit. I'm Glad you guys kept the dream alive :D great work!
Utopia of Elite Allied Fraggers I love this name and I am holding it to a vote. If noone likes it please state so and give another suggestion for a name. If noone disagrees with the name out title will be UEAF.
I also love the site, good work Kettles. Very much appreciated.
also thank you very much to Devvo for the server the clan is coming together quite nicely. good to see everyone working so hard and we will soon be on our way to becoming a great clan. team work in one of the most important tools a clan must use and you guys have shown your quite good at working together i thank you again!

edit: i am quite good at graphics so I will start designing some banners and back rounds for the site. I will post them in here for decision be for we post them on the site. once again thank you to everyone who has worked hard for this clan and Steven you have been great for team moral. even when noone was posting you still came in here and tryed to get everyone excited I appreciate all the work you did and am glad to have all of you in our great clan. nothing would have happened if it wasn't for the team work that all you showed!

F**K i had all this great post written and i clicked new registration on xfire and i closed it !!!! f*** this !! argh.. oh well here is the short version

i vote UEAF with [UEAF] as the tag, but more adventourus tags are welcome

I can change our website from a wiki if wwe would rather, but unless we get a better web designer, i dont know much other than html, and some javascript.. (limited)

Hey, i might be able to play dod:s i know i can play dod on this macheine, but then i remembered hey, i upgraded this machine before i got my laptop, and so i am installing dod:s right now, i hope it works (slowly tho 256 ram (i put 384 in it but it says 256) and a gforce fx 5200) so ill try in a few minutes...

Well, incase no one noticed we have forums on our webiste (ueaf.kettles.us) and i reccomend that everyone create a username, then ill set to admin, so we dont all post as admin and get confused... etc... plus we have a chatroom for discussions.. etc

I just dont have enough time to run caln with work, school and a girl friend theres just not enough time to go around and its not fair for you guys when im bairly here. thus I am here on out handing over ownershit to Kettles. He has put more work into the clan then anyone else and deserves it!

Are you sure that you want to do that. I understand the reason, and I am honored that you want to turn ownership over to me, but sole leader/owner dont usually work long term so stevey_p7 me and you (ja_moro),when availible, will run this clan together...

So as my first act as "leader" I think we need a server to play on! So Devvo , do you have that server that you were setting up working? if so that would be great for us to use, if not, we need to either set up one or rent one.

Secondly, evryone needs to have an xfire account, because that program is the back bone of a clan, and allows an ease of communication, both in game and out, plus you can join the server a friend is in very easly.. http://www.xfire.com

Third the people that have not really been active (save ja_moro), such as ssiilleenntt , Flung Dung , fizzlephox , FleetGuy , maybe Devvo (havent heared from recently), and the "new guys" such as, neo , and bryanf445 , will be concidered not in the clan unless they resopond within a day or two. And I am going to make a database of the clan members, because it makes it easy to keep track of members.

Let me know when there is a server set up and ill be there guys! my steam has been playin up the past few days and not letting me on the VAC secure servers, its a bit dodgy :frown:

no one seems interested in the clan anymore eh? im not seeing much to help.... Here is the first clan newsletter (http://ueaf.kettles.us/tiki-index.php?page=lastnewsletter). But Bryan and I are the only people registered at http://ueaf.kettles.us why is this i dont know....
