Well the latest PC Gamer Nov 2003 Vol 10 No 11 that I just pulled from the mailbox has no additional information on HL2. In its release column it does have a date of 11/19/03.

I am just saying what the mag has published just in case anyone wants to know so they dont pay money for the bagged CD version hoping just to get HL2 info.

Yeah, I got mine yesterday. I noticed that as well. I don't know how accurate they are with their dates, I think that they just pull their info from games sites, like EB and Gamestop though.

That worries me slightly. PC Gamer tries to be a pretty upstanding publication.

And why would they have 11/19 listed when they are the ones who BROKE the story with the 9/30 release date attached?

It says right there that Norman gets them from the internet.

You never know, magazines got HL2 info well before the rest of the world.

*upon realising it is probably released not on 30/9, shakes fist in general direction of VALVe HQ*

PC Gamer is as clueless as the rest of us. If they had solid information then they'd say so. Lack of attribution leads me to believe that this is another "ass date" as in "pulled out of".

Does anyone who posts those delayed messages really read other delayed messages and the replies made to those on this board? I mean, come on, I've read a whole lot of them stating something like "Yeah, my pc-shop says it will be 12 december", or some other date. When all these places give different dates, why bothering posting them here? The only true word will still come from Valve, even if it's NOT released on the 30th.

Just my 2 cents...

Pc gamer are actually quite shit when it comes to dates, i remember reading in there once that a game was due out next month when it was already out.

Still i think HL2 will be released October/November so it's probably not that far off.

October 1-13th it will be.

WELL if you people that are saying "read previous post" my original post in this topic is TWO fold. One to share the date AND to also let you know there is no other info on HL2. JUST in case some of you would want to buy the issue ASSUMING there was something about HL2.

Im just as tired of reading about people stating read post/search boards as you are reading them. Got nothing to say constructively, shut up. Or report the thread, and still shut up. Your choice.

It's quite possible that Valve is taking an extra month to tweak the game. I'd rather have a bug-free game then a buggy one.

I'm going to have to wait once I get it anyway. I'm mailing my faulty TI4600 away today, and BFG Tech, Inc is sending me a new one for free. I doubt it will be here within a week. Maybe I'll use overnight for when I mail it, and BFG said to expect 3-5 days for them to send it. Hopefully it works out.

You know what will be nice, after the game comes out some of these people who start these threads wont have anything to talk about.

These so called 'Delay' threads will now longer be tolerated at all. As from now, intentionally making one will result in a ban, unless you have substantial evidence (and no, I don't mean something like a games shop or site changing their dates).

Alternatively, people that make topics that request people to stop making delay threads will also be dealt with accordingly.

For anyone that doesn't know, a 'Delay' thread constitutes anything that is related to the delayed release date of Half-Life 2. As said above, if you see a major games shop or site like GAME/Electronics Boutique or Gamestop change their Half-Life 2 release date to something like November 12th, then proceed to post about it here, that will not be tolerated. These sites know nothing more than we do, and therefore are only making estimations on what the release date will be. You do not need to tell us, as it's not true.

However, as also mentioned above; if you do get substantial evidence like a confirmed e-mail from Gabe Newell with evidence, like a screen capture, that would be okay to post.

Also, If I didn't make this clear enough (I'm pretty sure I have, though), threads like "Do you think Half-Life 2 will be delayed?" or "Is the release date September 30th?/<another given date>" are totally out of bounds. Please stop with them.

if gabe and PC zone say its the 30th

then its the 30th simple as that.

you can take your frag"i dont know shit"master and your laughable PC gamer release dates with you on the 30th when you pick up the game.

PC gamer sucks.

i mean they praised that "highland warriors" game for ages then when it came out and ppl were like "wtf this sucks ass" PC gamer turned about and wrote a review saying it was sh*t.

they do it with lots of games.

i mean doesnt one of them say "guys the game looks piss poor" instead of saying its great then just writing a review that copies the public opinion.

If you read your own post it says site. This was from a magazine. AND it was not a "delay" thread. No where did I say it was going to be delayed. I just gave people the only HL2 information in the current (upcoming newstand) PC Gamer. So people would not (yes they do) just buy a mag to see if HL2 info was in it. Count to 10 and put away your red crayon, and go play in traffic.
