RAWR, i just got PhotoShop CS2, and it kicks arse.

Ive had ps for about 3 three days now, all ive got done is a few sigs and some random images.

You bought it? Isn't it like 600 bucks or something?

Sheesh...I'd never pay that much for software, and I can't believe they're getting away with selling it for that much. GAH!!! RAWWR! WTF...

Anyone care to explain why they should be allowed to sell it for so much?

the signatures need to have less crappy fonts but other than that it's good. i'll chock the fonts up to alcoholism :P

It is a bit much for software, but it's made and designed for professional uses. Things like advertising and movie effects, tons of companies use photoshop, I think the cost of the software is tied to how much the movie company will be making from the movie. Same with 3dsmax. If your going to use the software in your product, they want some of the profits for providing the software. It's not fair for people that just want to use it in their homes for hobbies, but that's how it works. Once you get familiar with software like photoshop and 3dsmax, you realize how much you can actually do with it, and that it would have taken a lot of work to create the software, and then the cost makes a bit more sense.

Pirating expensive software such as Adobe is better for the industry. Think about all the people who would have never discovered Photoshop if it weren't for a burned CD, and think how many who have will want to do this professionally at some point and will then be obligated to buy it.
