....wow it looks really good aswell...they don't show any fighting action, just some guy plays about a level on his own and it looks to basically be quake 3 arena in the doom 3 engine....same pace and everything. very sharp looking hud, guns and graphics

anyhow enough of my babbling, heres the site with them

Now who says the multiplayer would be dark? :P

Hell, looks like Raven is doing an awesome job with Doom3 engine! Doesn't look dark at all!!

Multiplayer looks awesome. I can't believe I ever doubted Raven. I looks like a good blend of Quake III on the Doom III engine and Quake 4 and something else.

Right now it looks waaaaaay too much like quake 3.1. Ofcourse, I will be getting the game anyway because of the singleplayer so whatever multiplayer content there is I will simply treat as a bonus feature. The good thing about this is that it will surely give modders an updated doom3-engine to work with. Looks like the people behind the cancelled d3f could work with this.

Which was the point! They take the storyline of Quake2, and add the multiplayer of Quake3.

What's not to love? :P

It's not exactly the same. It doesn't have the BFG (but a brand new super-weapon... seen in a video as the Dark Matter Gun accroding to a guy at planetquake.com), it has the nailgun, hyperblaster (was that in Q3? I'm not 100% sure), oh and it has beautiful graphics :D

If you love Quake3, you will love Quake4.

Nothing if you liked Quake 3, personally I much prefered Quake 2's Multiplayer. I was hoping Quake 4's would follow in the same vain.

Anyways, it's true... If you hate Quake3, then you will probably still hate the MP of Quake4.

A lot of people still love Q3MP, and it's still played competitively to this day, so that's why they chose it.

Anyone think they will have a Q4Test?

Yes, it's the tournament playing with the bots :P

It's technically singleplayer... You are the only human playing, and you have a goal... To get to the top of the tournament... Albeit, it's not the most creative SP lol :P

It had quite a large community, I was in a Quake 2 clan for a couple of years (45th best clain the U.K. no less, ok, so there were only 50!). It's the game D11 .Thresh (as he was then known) was made famous with.

It had a far slower pace than Quake 3, I remember playing Quake 3 for the first time and thinking it was quite frenzied. It seemed to be more orientated around map tactics. Also it didn't have any jump pads or stuff like that.

After seeing this shackeycam vid i change my mind it looks awsome,its the trailer that i saw.
