View Full Version : Garry's Mod AHHHHHHH!!!

ok i downloaded garry's mod 8.3B, installed it and it "does not respond" once the loading screen starts, i re-installed it and re-downloaded it, and it doesn't work so i try dling gmod 8.3A, and when i downloaded it it's not an .exe install file the type of file it says it is is just "file" and i can't run it, it's driving me insane, i can't play any version of gmod, 1 downloaded and installs properly, but doesn't work, the other doesn't even have a file name, i mean "file"!?!? that don't tell me what program to use to install it, MY HEAD IS READY TO EXPLODE, I AM GOING FREAKING CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!

Did you try letting it sit at the loading screen? garrys mod V8 and up take a long time to load....

i let it sit for an hour, i went back and it wasn't done so i pressed ctrl+alt+delete and it said it wasn't responding

Sounds like your computers pretty messed up.. : p

sounds like you need to reformat... if you really need to play it......

no, no, no my computer was top of the line a few months ago, i had it custom made with the best game play hardware, so it still is good after a few months.. do you need the internet to play gmod because i just got slow crappy dial-up (i live in the country)

I have dial up too, and there is online play with gmod, but also singleplayer....

on the gmod webstie it says you need hl2 deathmatch and cs: s, so do i need to dl/update those to play it?

FYI Gmod 8+ runs on the HL2: DM engine.

ALL GMODS 8+ ARE MADE FROM THE HL2: DM ENGINE.

I didn't realise that you needed DM installed though to run Gmod. I have DM installed because every once in a while, I decide to play it.

so, do I just need HL2: DM intalled to play it, or do i need CS: S too?

Just hl2:dm, but if you want CSS content, then yuo need it installed too, also, there is a GM for Hl:source...

Thank you, thank you, CS: S would take 1259 mins and 52 secs, to finish and HL2: DM
would take 200 mins and 46 secs! YES! GMOD!

oh, and i take it that, because i didn't have HL2: DM is why my gmod wasn't werkin?
i mean, it gets to the loading screen of gmod then instantly, BANG, does not respond!
