How Long Have You Kept An Object?

I just want to know if i'm the only one who tries to keep objects as long as possible, i managed to keep a mattress from "We Don't Go To Ravenholm"
Where there is a headcrab in a room with alot of shotgun bullets and a guy who's dead is laying on a mattress.
I kept this mattress from "We Don't Go To Ravenholm" all the way to The vortigaunt camp in "Sandtraps", take a look at the pic, you can see my wonderful mattress, it's killed Headcrabs, Combine, Fast & Slow Zombies, It Is A Lethal Mattress. This Shot Was Taken beside the fire in the middle of the camp. i named him matt

Some crazy people kept Dog's ball until Nova Prospekt where you jump from the ledge to fight the Ant Lion Guard. Can't go further because there was a clip brush blocking the ball. Or at least that's how I remember it.

i thought there was a clip block in ravenholm, cause i couldn't get it to travel with me in the cart (after fighting some fast zombies)

At the start of the game i threw a paint can at a scanner, it blew up and dropped a battery, i kept the battery with me until i got the hazard suit in kleiners lab when i was able to use it XD.

You threw it? I didnt think it was possible to kill a scanner by throwing something at it, unless it was some weird glitch...or you just spent an hour throwing the paint can at it until it exploded...

I took the first saw blade I found in Ravenholm all the way through, where you exit at the mines. I called him Buzz. I stuck him in a wooden beam which was just above a small fire. So he could keep warm. It was a sad moment when I looked back at him for the last time.

I need some friends. :p

I carried a scanner quite far through the game. Very far in fact. I tried to tame it. But alas to no avail. I think by the end he loved me though. Until some bastard rebel shot him.

So I got a new manhack buddy and killed the rebel...

I kept a scanner far into the game too.......I tamed it too well.....The tough moment was when I had to tell it I wasn't its really father...

it turned out ok as the scanner said "you'll always be a father to me" so.....

If you read the Prima Guide for Half-Life 2, It says to throw a paint can at the scanner you see on the roof to kill it.

I did it but you have to throw it 3 times. The 1st time you throw a paintcan at it, it starts to smoke.

i carried that board thingy that you put barrels and the likes on since Point insertion all the way to sandtraps. i used it to fly heaps. i also brought a buzzsaw blade once from ravenholm all the way to our benefactors. damn person pod.

Since Nova Prospekt. Grabbed turret from the first turret encounter, carried it through the rest of the level (made things in the second turret encounter a HECK of a lot easier.) cant remember how long i toted that thing. Think i left it on the ground by accident, before Alyx and i teleported, i bet it would have went with me then too. :/ That thing was great, carry it around and its like an automatic headcrab hunter. :P

I used to kill every scanner I saw by throwing bricks all the time. Just a few smacks and it's gone.

You have to jump at it before you let go of the brick though. It gives it a bit more "punch".

You can't get it to Nova Prospekt because to get it out of Ravenholm you have to go through water. Water kills the ball.

its possible, I used a Cement Block to take out the first 2 scanners when u exit Klieners lab first off. It took 5ish hits to blow em up. Kinda hard, cause you throw like a girl with things :P

I really havent tried keeping anything...I guess it never just really appealed to me...
I know this is probably been done before but i like waiting to pick up the can when the combine wants you to pick it up in the begining so he gets pissed off and puts himself into a loop of angry sayings "pick up the can!"

Nah, when you fall down into the water, you throw the ball upwards, surface, then catch it as it falls. Then, as you swim, keep "jump" held down and aim upwards. This will keep the ball just above water level.

Also, the ball won't explode until a certain depth under water. Found it out in Garry's Mod. You've got about a 2 foot grace area.

I kept one of the gun turrets that Alex re-programs all the way until you have to set up some more and fight another wave of combine. nest run I will bring back the two gun turrets. I was going to bring it along with me but they end up turning on you.

Tonight I'm going to see if I can carry a briefcase from the Trainstation with me until the last level ('cause I don't think you can take it with you through the Citadel for obvious reasons).

DOG's ball is the only thing I've tried to carry with me. I dropped it while on the roof with the elevator (in Ravenholm), and it blew up before I could get it again.
