I've been working on a Flash presentation, and I'd like to know how to select multiple items (from multiple layers) and apply a shift to all of their color, specifically an adjustment to their alpha level, in order to shift focus away from the background by making it transparent. Any ideas? I know how to a) select everything, b) adjust color settings, but I can't a) apply a general shift "formula" or b) find the alpha setting.

Any ideas?

What do you mean by "select everything"?

You can hide layers by clicking the little eye next to each, to help select what you want, or click the frame in a layer to select everything in that layer.

The alpha setting can be viewed if you click Window>Design Panels>Color Mixer

But I don't think that works for applying to multiple objects. So, here's what you do.

Select all the objects in question.

Right click and say "Create Symbol" Now they are all one object.

With this object selected, you can change the alpha in the properties panel.

I'll try and get some pics if you need them.

Alright, here we have our Color Mixer panel. Apha channel is an adjustable attribute of a single object, so it won't work with your multiple objects.

Right click, convert to symbol...

And here is the Alpha property we want to go to in the Properties bar next to "Color:"

Edit 2: Why aren't you on AIM or MSN? It would be a lot easier to help you.

Wow, I really wish I'd had a chance to read that reply, that's exactly what I wanted to do... shoulda thought of that myself. Thanks! :)

(Not on MSN/AIM cos I never am anymore, with the occassional exception.)
