I know they're known for doing this kind of thing, but trust them to do it just before the concert I go to see them at is coming up (30/06/05).
Btw has anyone else who's going to this actually got the bleeding tickets yet? I was just looking on my old bank statements and I ordered mine like October/November last year.

They are other exagerating in the press again, he left the stage because his voice was shit and he was getting fustrated with himself, they are not at war.
Trust the British press to blow it out of proportion.
And no, I haven`t got my Manc tickets yet either.
I ordered my tickets for the newcastle gig (13/7/05) and they came two months ago.

Is it just me or are Oasis in the same boat as U2 - that meaning they have only one sound. I think Bill Bailey explained it better than that, but all their songs sound like the same wailing drivel to me. Never liked Oasis or that twat of a Gallagher, probably never will either, I expect.

It`s just you, if you`d actually listen to the numerous album tracks and b-sides, not just singles, you`d realise they do acoustic, ballads, rock etc so no, they don`t all sound the same.
I`m sure they are hurt you don`t like them

A rhetorical question; I know it's not just my opinion and I have listened to a reasonable amount of their music in my time without it changing my opinion. Still I doubt they could give a shite if I like them or not and I'd be rather concerned if they did.
It's just a shame he acts like a complete arse in public. Any member of the public who carried on like that would have an ASBO on him before you could say pillock.
Each to his own I suppose.

lovely to see that some people can hold an adult converdation on these boards
Just because you do not like them doesn`t mean they are crap, well, I don`t have to try to justify that they are any good, look at their fan base around the world (and I don`t mean the states, I mean Japan, Ireland, Argentina, Germany, Italy etc) the gigs they continue to sell out and of course their award for most successful UK band of the decade.

No, cause you're disgusted at the slightest criticism of the band. Every post you have somehow involves how great and underratted Oasis is.
The Gallagher brothers are the biggest pair of twats. Use to like their music until I discovered I had a pair of testicles.

Erm....at what point do I come across as disgusted? I was merely correcting someone who said all Oasis songs sound the same. and just dropped a few comments in because people can`t come up up with original critiscm anymore.
"OOOh, they sound like the Beatles" - Do they? so ****ing what?
"The Gallaghers are twats" - And that stops them from being able to make good music does it?
"All the song sound the same" - I think I`ve already covered this
Your the one who came up with the cutting off of penis`s and starting being an arse, I was just pointing right points that people make when they really don`t have a clue.
In fact, the only remark you could come up with was about how I`d deface myself for a band, so really, everypost you make is immature, oh except I haven`t read any other threads where you post, so how could I make a statement like that? good point, but it`s just what you did with me.
When people can stop judging Oasis off the Gallaghers instead of the music, then peoles comments will be worth a ****, until then, stick yo what you like to listen to and stop passing judgement on someone elses favourite band.
This thread wasn`t even about Oasis`s quality, it was about trouble on the tour, and some gimp had to hijack it with the usual "Oasis are crap" post, so when idiots like you lot do that, then maybe I am a little disgusted that fans of a band can`t have a decent dicussion without nobs like you sticking your nose where it`s not wanted.

Why would people risk getting Oasis tickets?
I mean, Liam is likely to piss off the stage the moment somebody in the crowd sneezes.
Somewhat Off-Topic:

So? Record sales are not a testament to actual quality. If they were, then how would you explain crap like the success of Pop records. Same goes for awards. Aguilera won a Grammy, but that doesn't make her music any less wretched. I listen to quite a few artists that aren't as popular or successful as Oasis, yet I find them far more interesting and enjoyable.
Even the few songs that I do like from them suffer just because I can't get over how prickish the band is. Their pretentious and arrogant attitude only serves to separate me from their music and remind me of why they aren't and never will be the next Beatles.

Then by that same statement you say they can`t be good because you dsay they are prickish.
So having an attitude means that you can`t enjoy their music does it? Bullshit!
I can`t stand Robbie Williams, but even I enjoy the odd blast of Angels now and then, top song. Hate the bloke, like a couple of his songs.
If you judge music on how the artists put themselves across in interviews etc and at gigs, that`s entirely up to you, but your the one missing out.
Erm....I`ve been to 3 Oasis gigs, this`ll be be 4th if my tickets come, and each one has been ****in awesome, from the support acts through to the shows that Oasis themselves put on, so I think I have more experience in Oasis gig than someone who reads what they see in the press. He left the stage because his voice went, that has been confirmed as the reason, and rather than continue he let noel do a little set, tell me, what`s wrong with that.
Oh, and wether or not you want to believe it, yes, sales and awards for a band that are now 13 years old do matter. A Number one album, single and the award for most succesful of the decade PROVES they are popular, which is the point I was trying to make if you take a look back over the posts.
13 Year old, Number 1? Yes, that matters quite considerably in this world of hip-hop, rap and bubblegum pop.

Oh, I don't know. I'd feel gipped if I paid money for a concert only to have the lead singer **** off.
Your "experience" means **** all to me, as I could have just as easily gone to three gigs and walk away thinking they are complete wank.
But while I have never been to an Oasis gig (and don't get me wrong, I'm glad I haven't), let me detail a little experience a friend of mine had. She paid a hefty price to get a ticket for their concert. At the start of the show, a plastic water bottle was thrown from the crowd and on to the stage. O noes! Gallaghers throw a fit! They walk off stage! Show's over! Money wasted!

see, my point is that yes, when a band is 13 year old, not one of the new artists that have been around maybe 3 or 4 year tops, then the fact that people will still make them No.1 and they recieve awards is a testament to their quality.
If they were like one of these "wretched" artists, then they would no longer be able to hold such sales would they, people would see they were a gimmick/hype machine/record company muppets that they would no longer buy their stuff, which isn`t the case.
New artists sell well like that because of hype and teenagers, quality bands like Oasis and U2, sell because of their quality.
Oh, and I too like many other bands who aren`t as succesfull, so what? I like em, but they are not as long running or as good as Oasis. I hate Radiohead, but CAN appreciate that they are a fantastic group and up there with Oasis in terms of quality, they`ve been going as long as Oasis, still get No.1`s etc. see the pattern?

I'm not even necessarily trying to pin blame on Oasis on this one. I can't listen to their music. Me. Personal issue. I put it to you, good sir, that you are the petty one when you get so hostile and defensive whenever somebody criticizes your favorite band.
And their arrogance is a plus? That's an odd thing if I've ever heard one.
see, my point is that yes, when a band is 13 year old, not one of the new artists that have been around maybe 3 or 4 year tops, then the fact that people will still make them No.1 and they recieve awards is a testament to their quality.

New artists sell well like that because of hype and teenagers, quality bands like Oasis and U2, sell because of their quality.
Very debatable. If you think Oasis and U2 don't benefit from hype and teenagers, then you must be living in some alternate dimension. Secondly, there are things such as artist loyalty, fanboyism, and in some cases, persistent purchasing in the hopes that the artist will finally start making good music again. And do you know how many people I've met that have Oasis albums for the sole sake of getting chicks? Then, of course, there are lots of people that like to ride a wave.
No, album sales are not the end-all proof of artist quality.
Interesting little fact: Most publications I've read have commented in some way about how every successive Oasis album has gotten worse and worse. I can't validate that since I haven't heard them all. But how's that for the continuing acceptance of Oasis? Same goes for many Oasis (and U2) fans I've talked to. They only reason they continue to buy the albums is born out of the lingering hope that they'll get their game on again.
I do not consider such opinions to be "correct" or infallible in any sense. But it should give you something to think about.
Oh, and I too like many other bands who aren`t as succesfull, so what? I like em, but they are not as long running or as good as Oasis.
Good for you. My point was that I could list off numerous artists that aren't as popular as Oasis, but are still far more talented and better musicians in my eyes. Your entire argument seemingly rests on the premise that the more popular something is, the better it is. I think that makes you shallow.
I hate Radiohead, but CAN appreciate that they are a fantastic group and up there with Oasis in terms of quality, they`ve been going as long as Oasis, still get No.1`s etc. see the pattern?
And some people could argue that Radiohead is a bunch of pretentious tripe that only endures because they have a legion of fans that want to seem unique by listening to alternative garbage.
I don't think such a thing, though. I like Radiohead and I have all their albums. I do, however, understand why a lot of people don't like them and find their music to be rubbish. I do not try to defend the band by pulling up freakin' record sales and good reviews. I don't care. I listen to my music because I find worth in it. I do not require reassurance from the world to confirm the supposed quality of an artist I enjoy.
If you think that the endurance of a band (13 years, whoop-dee-****ing-doo) and their commercial success places them on pedestal of quality above newer or less successful artists, then I think you're an arrogant SOB. G'day.

Right, I`m not petty for defending a band against someone who won`t listen to their music, and then goes and to say they are shite? erm what? so if you can`t listen to it how do you know what the songs are like, that`s hole No.1 in your argument.
Not at all. I've listened to enough of their music to form an opinion of them. What, am I supposed to buy every album when the chances of me not liking them are high. You're a genius. A real bloody genius.
Hey, Stemot. Think of every band you don't like. Have you listened through all of their music?
How am I the petty one? A fan of the band comes into here to talk about Oasis, another fan joins into his conversation, then we get ****heads like yourself coming in and slagging off the band when the topic didn`t warrant it.
The petty one to me is the one that can`t leave a couple of fans to talk about the subject in peace, if you hate them so much, start a new thread for it.
Yes, because making an exaggeration of their behavior is "slagging", am i rite?
The only think I've argued over with you is the concept of popularity = quality, which I disagree with. Oasis is really only used as an example for the sake of discussion. But you construed that as insulting. The most I ever said against them was that I think they're assholes, and you've agreed with that. So tell me, what are you getting so pissy over?
Arrogance is a plus, why? Because they don`t suck up to anyone in the vain hope of selling a few extra records, or trying to please record execs, they so and do what they want and piss off whoever deserves it, some of the things they have said have been true, but no one else in the music industry would say anything like that for fear of damaging record sales. They don`t care, that`s a plus.
Oh no, they definitely do care. I wonder how they'd fair if they weren't coasting on the luxuries afforded by being celebrities. I wonder if their whole "telling it like it is" machismo bullshit would come out if they weren't wallowing in money. The only reason they can afford to seem like apathetic assholes is because they have nothing to lose. That's hardly strength in character.
But let's define "arrogant".
Arrogant (adj): Having or displaying a sense of overbearing self-worth or self-importance.
What you do describe is a product of their over-inflated egos. They are noisy prima donnas that throw fits when shit doesn't go their way. Half of the time, they're busy having cock-measuring contests with other musicians, if not among themselves. That strikes me as obnoxious and irritating. They think far too much of themselves. This isn't a case of them not bending to the will of industry execs. This is a case of stupid bravado brought on by them having their heads up their asses.
Hah! got chicks cos they`ve had an Oasis album, that`s where you lose any credibilty in this argument, what a stupid statement to make, really.
How can buying an Oasis album make anyone think that it will get them a woman? Most women hate Oasis, so that statement makes absolutlely no sense at all.
Sorry for not having numbers to back that up.
Since this is just your word against mine, I'm not pursuing it further. But you can continue to act like a twat, if you wish.
People buy every album in the hop that they will start making good music again? You really don`t have a clue do you? If that`s what you do mate then your severly disallusioned.
I never said that. Of course, you twisted my words to make it seem that way. Good job.
If you deny that such people on the planet exist, then you are the disillusioned one, my friend.
People buy albums when they like:-
a) A few Singles from an album.
b) They liked the artists previous album(s).
c) It gets good reviews.
Jackpot. And then they patiently await said band to capture the quality of that album. This isn't rocket science.
Yes, there are a fap-n base, but a fan base alone can not make you successful after 13 years (yes 13 year is a whoodee-do),
...So what does an artist do without fans? And yeah, thirteen years in existence is something I couldn't care about. It's not just the fact that there are plenty of artists that have been around longer. It's the fact that nobody should give a shit. 8 years, 10 years, 12 years, 14 years... who cares?
your music has to do that talking for you, and lets face it, hype for Oasis died about 5 year ago, so don`t tell me that hype has something to do with it.
Give me a break. Hype for Oasis is still alive and well, and you're lying to yourself if you say otherwise. It's the same kind of shit that happens when U2 releases a damn album.
Your statement about Oasis records getting worse and worse reviews, my ****ing point exactly, why would people run out and buy a shite album, it wouldn`t get to no.1 just if the fans bought it.
You're not making any sense. Non-Oasis fans are putting it up to #1? It's shit and people like it? The publications are lying? Oasis fans are lying? What's your point. Coherency, bitte.
the albums are still great in context to everything else, just not their debuts.
What?
How can a band after all this time still hold those sales? Well it`s certainly not hype, definatly not from it being stylish to like them, they let their music do the talking......
.........BECAUSE THEY STILL PRODUCE MUSIC PEOPLE WANT TO LISTEN TO!
Great. But that does not objectively place them on some pedastal above everybody else.
My argument isn`t based on how successful something is the better it is at all, it`s all about the length of time they have been succesfull that makes them better, which is something your not grasping at all. 13 years of success is hell of a long time for it to be teenages and hype don`t you think?
No, not really. If you think about it, it's not far-fetched. And judging from most of the Oasis fans I've met and their increasingly negative view of the band, I'd say that most of their money is coming from zealous Oasis consumers.
This lead me to your last statement, you see, people seem to be eager to put Oasis down, but when someone jumps up to defend them, they have Liams dick in their mouth etc, that again, is hypocritical on your part, what? Did he sleep with your missus or something, is that why your so bitter?
No, I just can't like their work, both in part because I dislike the band and because I don't care too much for most of their music. The comment about Liam's cock in your mouth just seemed so apt because you're like a rabid dog that wants to defend Oasis on every ****ing count (this thread being proof).
13 years of success, it is a statement of quality, weather you like it or not, sold out shows all over the world (gigging is one of the things that shows a bands quality), awards, No.1 albums and singles, 6 consectuctive No.1 studio albums.
And yeah, how do people fairly evaluate an album on the day it comes out? They can't. This only serves to support the idea that people are buying the albums because of who they're coming from rather than what they consist of.
And my point still stands. Do the Pop princes and princesses stand on equal footing with Oasis when they get sold-out shows, No. 1 ranked albums in the charts, and put on impressive shows?
I agree that album sales are not the be all and end all pal, but then it`s hell of alot more than album sales innit mate.
Nothing else you've mentioned can be displayed in a competent quantitative form that establishes a clear link to band quality.
Fact is, people are petty for hating the music because of the brothers, I`ve had many friends who thought like you do, they sat down with the albums, and now they like the MUSIC! not the brothers, the music, so get the **** over yourself, they are the most succesful UK act of the decade, over U2, Radiohead (which I bet really pisses you off) and the like.
Get over what? I'm fine with them being considered the top UK band of the decade. I'm fine with them being more successful than Radiohead. You know why? Because I really couldn't give a shit about such pretentious titles. I don't care if your friends learned to like Oasis because, well... I'm not one of your friends, nor are many people across the world who would side with me on this one.
Your right, non of this matters when you listen to music, but when people like yourself come on slagging them off, it makes it satisfying as hell to throw it all at you.
If you don`t like them, piss off and let people who do sit here and talk about them without you dropping in your stupid remarks.
I said they were arrogant assholes and you pretty much agreed with me. Nice straw man, Stemot. You tard.

Now please grow up and f.uck off.

Tired of arguing mate, but I`m not the one who invaded a discussion about Oasis tickets slagging off the band by saying you don`t know why anybody ever goes to see them because Liam just ****s off.
Whatever, if that means I need to grow up, so be it, and no, you may not have said it, but that`s the genral feeling put across by you.
I just want to talk about tickets for my favourite band.
When I want a dicussion about the quality of Oasis, I`ll just go and have an argument on one of the many boards dedicated to hating Oasis.
Oh, and you did call me a tard, and the very use of that word does mean you have some growing up to do.
