Something like that always happens to me, like my DVD drive broke before I installed Splinter Cell 3 and I had to go and reconnect everything, it was a hassle, but I got it working. I am expecting some kind of problem when I start the game up.

If we're talking software failure, I'd wipe the entire harddrive and reinstall, if we're talking hardware failure, I'd salvage what I can and replace the damaged peripherals with stuff from other machines in my house.

I would fix it if possible. If not I would gut it and integrate it into and older comp so it can run BF2. Or use one of the other 3 that already can run BF2.
