Anyone else turned off by the latest gameplay vid?

I just got completely turned off from this game and I was really hyped for it too. For once it sounded like the game was going to have crazy intense action all the time, and then I see this vid on fileplanet and its just like bf1942 except with modern weapons/vehicles...run around......dont see any enemies for 20 minutes.....drive around....see 5 ppl at most....no action....zzzzzz...... :sleep:

Now I'm sad. ;(

Now I'm sad. ;(Did you ever think that he may have been playing with a few bots, or just that 5 people on the server? Of course there's going to be no action when there's 6 of you. Remember that this game supports up to 64 players at the moment, with the chance of more in the future.

I think I know the video your talking about, and yeah, looks boring, but that is because like Axyon said... the video had a small ammount of players, doubt they could round up 64 just for it.

To be honest i could be the only one on the server and still have the time of my life :D Example i'd be commander and set a artillary strike to my location and watch the ragdolls WEEEEEEEEEE :naughty: Thats what makes this game so much fun. If there is 1 or even 64 players ill find a way to make it fun for ME

I always fly around in a chopper by myself and humming the Airwolf tune... :)

You are aware of the fact that this game has a SP-portion, esp. made for this purpose? The demo will also be playable as SP-game.

Yeah but the SP portion only allows the 16 player version of the map. I don't think there's any aircraft on that version.

By that I mean.. No I didnt know.

On the topic of learning to fly, best move I ever pulled off in BF1942? I was in the plane with two bombs, I thought Id be snazy so I let the bombs off over a base, then...moved my plane down. The bombs just hit the wings and I went into a pretty taildive into there base... That *might* of been the worst, I forget.

Ritz, you are still correct in that if you wish to practice flying (in the demo at least), you need to create your own server. as Amish has mentioned earlier the 16 player map does not have the added airbases for the MEC and the US.

OT:any BF2 footage is good footage to me, sure the Gamespot stuff was a bit on the pewp side simply because there was no action going on (low amount of people on the server)

there is only 1 thing that bothers me out of all the videos I have seen.
and that's the ragdolls... and it's not even a complaint, just that everything else looks so good in comparison.
actually the only thing I don't like about BF2 is the fact I am not playing it RIGHT NOW.

I actually like the ridiculous ragdolls. I forget which vid it was, but a guy got blasted by some kind of explosive directly and went flying like 100+ feet in the air...that was pretty sweet :P

I don' like the twitching on the ground so much though but it's such a minor aspect that I don't really mind.

you don't have to be in a squad at all, you can play it just like BF1942/BF:V and go solo aka "Lone-Wolf" style.

Last time I checked maps only went up to 64. So 32 per team. So you could have 9 squads with 3 people and one with 5. Or 5 squads of 6 and one of 2 etc

Yeah.

10 squads per side is plenty. This allows for people that wanna be in a full squad to have plenty of opportunity to do so. It also allows for a couple friends to work together nicely as well. Maybe a sniper duo, a sniper/spec ops duo etc. Working in a small team could be just as fun as working in a full squad.

A spec ops and sniper duo.

They get a jeep or buggy on a hill. Spec Ops loads it with C4. Drives it down the hill at an enemy control point. Bails out and blows it up as it rolls to the enemy position (maybe killing a player or two. Spec Ops guy takes cover and the gunfight starts. Sniper in the hill starts picking guys off that threaten Spec Ops. Once this fight is under way. The squad leader of this little duo calls the commander to bring in the a full squad from another position to finish the job.

Elaborate but oh so sweet.

Of course if an AT spots you driving that jeep at them, you're done for :P

If they're rigged with C4 :) I'm so glad you can stick C4 to vehicles. That adds so much more to the class. I look forward to sneaking into the enemy airport and rigging a blackhawk or major transport to blow. When it takes off :) BOOM. 5 kills or so :D

That would be awesome, grab one of those useless transport helicopters (although they probably won't be quite as useless in this game) load it full of C4, have a team mate fly it into a group of enemies, and then blow it up :). Same could go with cars...that would be so cool, grab one of those civilian cars and load it full of C4 and then drive it into a bunch of enemies...

I dont know...I just say it gets really ****ed up at the end in the jungle with the assasination and just all that wierdness. Its a very very ****ed up movie lol. Maybe thats the wierd version maybe not.
