I just thought, all the sudden: "HOW ABUOT I MAEK A ART THRED LOLZ!"

So I did.

I can't really do computer art, most of my stuff is done with pencils, charcoal, and pastels. Pastels are probably the coolest thing on this planet. Anyway, here are a few things that I've done.

Self portrait, very old:

Agent Smith, done in several thousand Matrix characters:

Pastels Still life:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v511/Erestheux/artwork/pieces/2005-02-01-guitar.jpg

Willie Wonka, pastels:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v511/Erestheux/artwork/pieces/2005-02-willywonka.jpg

I'm currently trying to cover my entire wall with portraits of cool movie characters, since I love doing portraits and I also love pastels. It might seem a bit redundant to some, but the result, for me, is awesome :)

Hannibal:

Hellboy:

Darth Sidious:

Pennywise:

Marla Singer:

Donnie Darko:

Tyler Durden:

I love your work, especially the deep shade you use. I wouldn't mind seing some more detailed works though, I'm not a fan of pastels myself. And the clown owns. <3

And the clown owns. <3Thanks dude. :D I'm not crazy about making tiny details, which is one of the reasons why I love pastels-- its impossible and also useless to make details. Maybe I'll post a pencil sketch or something sometime, if anyone cares enough :P

There is Professor Dorr from The Ladykillers. Kinda oddly shaped head, but overall I do like it.

Sorry for the big gap there. I plan to do at least one thing every few days, so I'll put 'em in here. Thanks for the compliments.

Oh, and Willy Wonka (which I just got a better photo of) was voted in to my school's select art gallery. Of course, not many people really submitted, but I am still pretty proud of that :) Here it is, after a good touchup:

You have an interesting style, but if I were you, I would just stop using black forever.

Your drawings will look so much better if you stop outlining things.

Good job so far though!

You've got a point. Perhaps using a darker shade of the color you are outlining instead.

And what is this "yuri" talk?

Good job so far though!Yeah, you're definately right. I need to go back and change the outlines. I definately can't stop using black, though, haha. I definately outlined the latest one too much, and I can see some places where I did it and shouldn't have. I guess I get lazy in defining edges. Hrm.

Yuri is my nickname, vegeta.

Why isn't this showcased?Thanks, man. :)

But I hardly update this, sorry. Its cuz I haven't had any time for art this summer yet... but I will. Right now I'm on vacation and art supply-less, but I'll try to get something done soon. :)

Oil pastels, water pastels or chalk pastels?

Erestheux
04-07-2005, 05:24 AM
Oil pastels, water pastels or chalk pastels?Chalk. I haven't used the other two yet, but I plan to use some oil pastels I just got very soon. :)

Also, Yuri is a name from cybersh33p. He used to call me "Yuri's Ducks" because thats how he pronounced my name. So I took on the nickname Yuri cuz its a cool name, and draw ducks everywhere. :)

Oil pastels are great fun. But Water Pastels make for a smoother colour and texture. I haven't tried chalk pastels.

When i get my art folio back i'll scan some of my pastel work and post it. I love pastels.

And what ever happened to cybersheep?

And what ever happened to cybersheep?WoW happened to him. He also now hates the internets other than that, I believe, especially HL2.net.
