Half-Life insists on trying to install itself in C: but I don't have enough space on it. How do I change this, so I can install it on D:?

During the installation, change the instal dir to D:

I do that all the time with all games.

With some games you have to click on "Advanced user" when installing to choose your own drive. It might be the same for Half-Life 2, not sure if it is.

Download Tweak Xp, and you can change your default program files folder, so you dont have to change it every time. Thats how i have it on my pc,C: drive is windows only,l and my D: is files/program files.

You just changed the directory of where it's installed...
As in started it with D:\ and not C:\.

That should really be all you need to do....

If you mean Half-Life Steam version make sure Steam is installed on D:\, because HL has to be installed in the same location as steam.

Yeah, by default 99% of games come up with a message saying install game to c:\program files\bla bla - simply chnage the 'c' for the drive of your choice. I use 'g' (for games)
