J Allard is like a friendly Lex Luthor. It's strange.

In regards to why they chose the specs they did, I think he makes a good point. It's supply and demand. If the developers want something, then you give it to 'em. You don't blow your cash on acquiring/creating tech that's going to rarely be used, if ever.
